Honestly it's really weird to me to see people barely reacting to the two NPCs in that questline. Compare how other characters reacted to seeing Yugiri unmasked for the first time. They'd never seen an Au Ra in their lives.
Technically, there two. Rostik and the Gunbreaker NPC. Both part of that quest series. As for being rare in the three major cities and areas, they've just started moving south. That's why.
I mean Au Ra and Highlander men, who are typically described as beefy, are the same in sheer bulk. I too wish you could make them somewhat bigger, because it'd suit them, but as Theodric said, they're already pretty large and it's not a huge flight of imagination.
Regardless, outside of RP, it's fairly obvious what female Viera are. They just don't have much capacity to look like a male at all - virtually none of the females do, although you can in some cases go with a tomboy look.
For toning. For an actual muscle slider, SE would need to be willing to invest a bit more in the game character creation wise.Just wondering, several people have mentioned implementing a 'muscle slider', but what exactly would it do? Would moving the slider up/down make a character more/less muscular, or do you mean simply making the muscles that are already there more visible(that is, with more definition, shadows, etc.)?

When the game's story becomes self-aware:
I really wished that as they added new races they also added new background npc to show that theses races exist in Eorzea. I don' mean intractable ones with dialogue just ones that stand there and look pretty. Doesn't need to be a lot just some scattered about.
Honestly, their introduction of new races to the game leaves much to be desired, but unfortunately the way the MSQ is constituted limits how they can go about it.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
Hrothgar lore:
"Hailing from the distant shores of Ilsabard, the Hrothgar are a burly people of leonine appearance—or the males at least. Females are staggeringly few among their population and are rarely glimpsed by the other races.
The Hrothgar's imposing countenance, not mitigated by their sharp claws and their still sharper fangs, incited panic among Eorzeans upon their arrival. As they were unable to communicate, initial interactions among the commonfolk often escalated into conflict. After the Hrothgar gained mastery over the common tongue fears allayed and, in time, they were welcome in all corners of the realm."
They've been to Eorzea many times, from the sound of it.
They sort of did this with Au Ra, but then they bungled it by making it seem like Yugiri was the first Raen ever seen in Eorzea. The implementation was pretty messy.
Lore reasons are alive in this thread again? @_@
I'm lazy enough to check unclear amount of pages to find the start of it, so could somebody explain in short what's going on?
IMO, everyone should be able to feel like the lore is against it, even though its just not, but I do get why they see it that way
