    I hate the thought of losing cross-class functionality. IMO, that's what made the class system great, and it's being whittled away little by little.

    To the OP: It is nice to see the rare occurrence of someone using the lost art of foresight. Thank you for that.

    Cross-classing isn't going anywhere. Only on Jobs do you have them limited, but that's the entire point. Jobs are specializations where you become adept at doing one thing, but have to rely on other team members for support in other areas.

    The reason for my paranoia is understandable, I hope. With 1.20, the number of abilities we are able to cross class has dropped by no small margin. On top of that, a percentage of those still available to cross class have been stripped of their value to the point that it doesn't make sense to cross class them. How much further will they go to restrict classes to their own native abilities?

    I like the idea of introducing jobs as a way to restrict people into certain party roles and reduce homogeneity, but I never felt that classes needed to be restricted as they have.
