Just because you have an ill opinion over mentors doesn't mean the whole world revolves around that lone aspect. Consider the Novice Network on JP worlds, Mentor of Mentors (which takes a little bit of effort) and mentors who don't wear the crown. Sheesh.

New players don't ask for advice, and all turning on the crown does is get you spit on. The entire system is based around a reward that shouldn't be handed out, and the novice network is a mentor friends chat room.

I don't think the system should be removed - I think it should be remade.

I agree that a mentor system is a good idea, and on paper the current system probably looks good - but put into action it's horrible.
If a new player wants to ask a question, they aren't going to need you to have a crown before they ask.

The requirements are too little as well.

I applaud the people who are willing to try and help people through the wave of spit, but that doesn't make it a good system.

I just spent an hour carrying the worst level 60 party through dungeon finder I have ever come across. The BLM seemed to be casting spells at random. The WHM kept getting caught in tornados. Both dps were getting knocked off the platforms and not learning for past wipes.

My rotation for the final boss was savage blade riot blade clemency WHM who was continuously being tossed in tornados and clemency the dps the WHM didn't have time to heal. I never once saw a regen thrown out either.

And after it was all finished I got 0 commendations.

SMH why do people not know how to play at 60?

You're failing to consider what the system is suppose to stand for. People follow symbols. Its how humanity has worked since forever. The crown itself is too regal for the intended purpose.

We all have parties like that from time to time, it really sucks when you have an I SAVED THE PARTY moment and still leave with no coms, but such is life. You know you did good, own that. xD Remember, a lot of people never commend just because they can't be bothered to click it.
