This is factually untrue. As for the dude you were quoting, you have never died because a healer 'Just DPS'd', an inactive healer causes deaths, one paying some degree of attention does not.

There are lots of things that cause death:

Tanks over pulling. Tanks not using their CD's properly (Don't forget about arm's length!)

DPS not doing enough DPS to kill mobs fast enough. DPS not using their self heals so healers can focus on these tanks who need more attention.

Healers not using their CD's optimally

Had a run the other day in Amourot (SCH) where the tank said I kept him alive better than a WHM. It's all about group efforts and using you abilities properly.
