it's because I queue dungeon as healer on my SCH so I get access to instant queue (I am only level 56). Once I get to end game, i'll focus on getting appropriate gear for my SCHNobody minds if a healer is barely DPSing because they have to spend all their resources healing just to get by, BUT I think we can all agree that if you were to look at that and say "Well, folks survived so there's no reason to upgrade my gear lol" people would be justified in saying you're bad.
Putting out a lot of DPS while keeping folks alive is the end goal. It's what you should strive to do. It's ok if you go "Well, I'm still practicing/gearing, I'll get there eventually." My beef is with the people who say "Well, nobody died, so I'm at the peak of my ability and see no reason to improve."
At the very least start using the vendor NPCs to buy the generic sets as you increase in level. They're not only cheap but go a long way, as leveling is pretty much what they're for. At the very least do this after 60 and 70 because the ilvl jump between expansions is massive.
I ran a few zero damage extremes last night. 1 person said something. All groups disbanned.
That's what i've been doing. I am not THAT undergeared.
This. If your healer isn't dpsing and it's a problem (can't beat a dps check for example) just ask them to leave and replace them. The PF is full of them atm, keep seeing people on discord who can't clear the trials and have 900dps healers. Not to say it's their fault exclusively but if you're only missing a few k to clear just replace them.
If it bugs you because they're just sitting around watching netflix, kick them.
The problem is that telling healers that they don't need to DPS is a disservice because the above will happen and it won't be pleasant. Healer DPS is very much required during early prog as well, and people need to be made aware of this. It's only optional when you're at gear level for the encounter and that is not the "required" ilvl.

For me, the healing scenario wasn't changed at all. The only difference is that healing has less DPS tools, leaving what already was a snooze fest into a really boring role. Not so much for those who was already used to WHM, but SCH and AST mains felt the hit of the nerf bullet. But healing itself is as great as it is ever been, turning oGCD the main way to heal. So, the only way to abide by ABC is pressing that filler button over and over and over again. Yet better than do nothing for 10 seconds, but it isn't that fun.

Healers aren't special. We are expected to play our role just like everyone else. We have attack spells. I would never call out a non dpsing healer, but I will continue to dps and heal. It isn't hard to weave glare and cure, or so on.

My question isn't pressing the glare button. It is not having a brave, haste, shell or something like that button to press between the glares. Nor having even an 1-2-3 combo to press, making the rotation looks like:
dia > glare > glare > glare > glare > glare > glare > glare > solace > glare > glare > glare > glare > dia > glare > glare > glare > solace > glare > glare > glare > glare > glare > glare > glare > glare > solace > glare > glare > glare > glare > glare > glare > glare > misery > glare...
That's a glaring issue we have here.
You know threads like this come up, and then I look over at WHM pumping out 6k+ DPS and I'm thinking....I think they want you to DPS.
