I have a 120hz screen, let me double check something....
Yup screen refresh rate is set to 120hz.

Game load screens jump to my refresh rate of 120hz, but once you get past the menu ad the character select screen is up...it forces it down to 60fps. The benchmark has no ceiling, I get around 70fps on that, with some bursts in the 90's.

Anyone know how I can get my Radeon HD 6950 card to run in 120hz? I am using a 52" Sony Bravia XBR9 for my monitor for now until I get a new one. My tv is 240hz. CCC will only display up to 60Hz

edit: nevermind it appears that while hooked up to a pc it will only do 60Hz

I use a CRT set to 90Hz, and it was capping out at 60 as of 2 months ago or so, last time I bothered to run fraps.
Wow really? I always thought they could only put vertical sync on to cap it. I've heard of people breaking the block, there must be a way then

I have an okay setup but I know it's nowhere near the greatest, especially by today's standards.

ATI Radeon HD 5770 (with 1GB memory)
AMD Phenom II X4 945 Processor 3.00 GHz
    8GB RAM DDR3

For all the other technical gaming stuff, I don't know anything else about my computer other than the rest is the parts I got from the store that came with it.

It does have a BD-ROM, and 1TB Hard disk drive, so that's kinda nice to have

    I like my computer though.

I can play FFXIV on 1080p resolution, but I have AA turned off, shadows on medium, texture settings are mainly turned up high. Runs smooth for the most part, haven't had any problems yet. It's nice though. Mainly I'm just glad I'm able to play 1080p because when I put it down to 720p, the UI is way too big and covers a big portion of the screen (I hope they fix that, FFXI had separate resolution options for both UI and background settings).

As you can see, the CPU doesn't even come close to being the bottle neck. ITs the GTX 460's.
Notice how GPU2 seems to hover around 95% and GPU1 hovers around 85%.

At this time, I don't see any value in overclocking my CPU. Ill wait a couple more generations for Nvidea or ATI to get their act together and actually produce something that is an improvement over its predecessor. I really am bitter that the GTX570 offers little improvement over the GTX480. And the almighty Radeon 6900 series is pretty lame considering its supposed to be the latest and greatest. Seriously WTF, what happened to things doubling every generation?.

    Also,
I turned off windows Aero, and saw no improvement. I find it highly suspicious that a 3k jump in benchmark was acheived from something so minimal. Of the three tests I did back to back, this was the lowest score. The highest was 4556.

    note:
The CPU-Z proc speed shows it at a 1.6ghz, that is just due to the Intel turbo boost that throttled it down after the benchmark. During the benchmark the multiplier fluctuated between 34 and 36(3.4-3.6ghz)
LOL that was my mistake he had said FFXI benchmark /hides
Yeah at stock speeds it will throttle down to 1.6 if your not using it. Im curious why it actually shows your 2 cards and on mine it says only 1 GTX 570

    An instant 800 point jump!

    Physx set to CPU:

I noticed about a 10% average increase in CPU usage with physx allocated to it, yet only a 20pt increase in score. So no real difference. I don't think there's really anything more I can do to increase the score. Outside of new GPU's. For fun Ill overclock the rig one more time and see if that does anything.

    Bottom line:
The SLI fix you gave me worked surprisingly nice! Cant wait to see if your tips on activating 3d will work! Ill send you a PM if I need help with that in a few days
Sure but dont stress yourself it is a lot easier than you can imagine just find the hot key it is set to turn it on, or in the Nvidia control panel you can even set it to start when the game runs its called. "Hide stereoscopic 3d effect when game starts" if that is checked it wont load games with the default on. Uncheck that if you want it to load up without having to use the hot key. But yeah that 800 point jump is nice ^^ 800 points is quite a nice improvement.

I agree totally! I really wish they do fix that because it is really hard for me to see things at 1920X1080 but too big at lower resolutions!! /aRGHH

Yeah it is capped at 60frames always.

I dont know how it works with tv's but I do know that for me to get 120hz I had to use my DVI cable and not an HDMI cable. But I guess you figured it out.
