I will never understand why only hyur have it.

I believe Yoshi said that they have the limit for features that they can use. So every race has some unique one, but only one. Let's say... muscles, tails, ears, etc.

Ironically enough, a JP friend of mine was here when male miqo's were released and commented that various JP players found the catboys too masculine, and felt they did it to appeal to westerners.

To be fair, Miqo'te aren't feminine. But they aren't too masculine, though, they are just athletic.
