With the certain...behavior that tends to follow male Miqo'te and Hrothgar, I really do think the reasonings for wanting male Viera are less "for the players" than a lot of people are letting on. SE should either consider upping the rating of the game to M or removing male Miqo'te as it is. Things get very, very strange.

This whole "Nyeh I don't like people making my manly men gay and gross and feminine and gay" argument is really exhausting. So instead of entertaining it with debate, I'm just going to bring this back.

I find it to be pretty counterproductive and a little unsettling, personally. The female model is pretty clearly female no matter how much people try to push for it to be otherwise. It also makes me question what some people are actually pushing for in regards to the aesthetics of the male model itself should it actually be added to the game in the future.

It was a very 'in general' to a lot of what has been said in this thread of late. If you feel it is about you, consider it. If you know it isn't, then it isn't and you don't need to worry about it. There are a lot of people who want to take swipes at people for how they want to play the game, which isn't really any of their business. I quoted you to respond to one thing and then continued speaking about other matters as well, so as not to clutter the thread with multiple posts. If you want to take anything said in the whole of my post personally, you're free to or not, but that is up to you.

Saying 'I want lore to remain intact' has no place in a game where there IS NO LORE regarding Viera/Vii outside of what Yoshida and his team decide to create. Tactics and XII Viera are a different race. And Male Viera DO EXIST in XII. They just are not playable/seen. It isn't that they are not THERE. They just are not SEEN. Hence, there is no real justification to using lore as a reason to deny players access to a race down the road in this game should the team get access to the resources to do so.

I only considered it because you quoted me when you said it, the way its typed feels directed at me. But hey this is why we talk it out.

Is my post on "Male Viera can exist" just being ignored? I feel like it is, because I never said they can't exist or they never existed. Im very familiar with the Viera, which is why I'll continue to hold the Lore argument, but once again...Ill repeat once again. They can be written in.
And The Viera in Tactics and XII are the same Viera. The games take place in the same universe, and use the same lore.

Us, us who? Who is this Us you speak of? Because if you mean the general populous then I got some bad news for you, bro. The popularity of the feminine guys I churn out (including my bootleg bunny boy), as well as the attention they garner shows that there is a lot of interested in softer, feminine men. So your attempt at minimizing those with that aesthetic preference isn't gonna work.

Also, most races come with a "youthful/feminine" face option anyway, as well as more masculine ones; meaning those that like feminine men can still make them. (Hell just look at Hyur, you can legit roll a female model and with the right face/hair you can pull off a femboy easily.) so I don't know why you're so angry at the idea of someone making a "Soft boy", people can already make them; and Miqo'te are already seen as the "Soft boy" option to begin with. So yeah while Viera aren't going to be drag queens or anything, you're going to be seeing a lot of super model bunny boys should male viera ever grace us with their presence.

You needn't be afraid, they aren't going to look too feminine and gay; it'll be okay, I promise.

Men that are feminine don't stop being adults, dude. Just because a guy might be young in the face doesn't make him no longer 25. If that were the case, I'd be eating off the kids menu for the rest of my life for those cheap chicken tenders.

Yoshi remarked that male Viera would be more most similar to Elezen, so rugged Elezen is what we'd most likely get; of course Square could throw a curve ball; but judging how female viera look, I doubt the males are going to look much different. They aren't going to be walking uke's but they also aren't going to look like Roe's with fuzzy ears. They're most likely going to be lithe athletes, and the most muscle I can see them putting on would be a swimmer's bod, as that seems to be the pattern when it comes to non brick-built men they put out.

I feel like people tend to forget the kind of company square is, and their MO when it comes to the characters they design; pretty boys is kind of their thing. We're more likely to get bunny men that look like Sephiroth than anything lol.

I'll stop bringing up the gay thing when people stop pooping their pants at how disgusting they personally find the concept of a feminine man to be. Because that seems to be a rather large root in many arguments. "Personal preference, and ew." But lets be honest, other than the (rather weak) lore argument, it's the only leg some people have to stand on.

Again, it has absolutely nothing to do with homosexuality. I think it's very deceptive to try and imply those who against such aesthetics are against homosexuality if that is the intention. It's a matter of personal preference.

Either way, it isn't something that needs to be discussed here as it serves only to derail the thread.

I'm curious as to why giving something to someone else, that obviously doesn't take anything away from you, is an issue or a problem. Are you really that insecure about yourself?
