Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

I personally used voice 12. Nice to know I'm not the only one who thought it could pass as a high pitched male. Interesting to see the Viera numbers being ever so slightly inflated due to people bootlegging their way into bunny boys.

Yeah, 12 is the best option imo and I gave it to one of my buns. Went with 3 with another other and was pleasantly surprised with how well it worked out. I think the only emote that sounded obviously feminine is the shocked/surprised.

I find it to be pretty counterproductive and a little unsettling, personally. The female model is pretty clearly female no matter how much people try to push for it to be otherwise. It also makes me question what some people are actually pushing for in regards to the aesthetics of the male model itself should it actually be added to the game in the future.

I made do with what I was given. If you don't like it you're free to not RP with me :)

Such could be done, with greater effect, with one of the male models. The Gold Saucer has some bunny ears that can be equipped and there's a decent amount of tribal looking weapons/armour to be found as well as face paint. It still isn't the genuine thing but it strikes me as a less inelegant solution.

Personally I'm just going to be playing something else entirely. If they add them, they add them. If they do not? It isn't the end of the world for me.

And you are welcome to do so if you want to RP as a Male Viera. Using a female base gives me some level of customization with the ears shape and colors. I draw him more masculine than his in-game model for his external bio that I use as a lfrp post. It’s by no means my ideal solution for playing a manbun but it’s worked well enough so far. Should we ever get a long eared headpiece that hides miqote ears like the werewolf ones do, I might change him to that (he’d end up waaaaaay shorter than I wanted but the 4 ears with hyur/elezen bug me) but other than that this is what I’ll be sticking with.

This is by no means the end of my world (?) But I have no real reason to not ask for it like I’d ask for anything else I’d like. So here I am ;3

I just wish that SE hadn’t teased players with male Viera concept art (and art that looked damn good too!) if they were gonna go this path. That was the part I saw as a bit cruel, because it made people get their hopes up and expect it. (Myself included).

Had they not done so, people still would have been disappointed, but at least not expecting male Viera.

I’m amongst those hoping that male Viera eventually get added in.
And just hoping SE no longer teases stuff that they don’t intend on doing.

I was actually planning to do something similar, once I've finished with my current character and am ready to Fantasia - create a Viera and see how boyish I can make them. Voice 12 does indeed seem quite good for that, but I'll have another listen to 3, too.

There are several problems with using the Gold Saucer ears (I speak from experience doing this before the expansion)

First for me was the fact that if you use short cropped hair styles, your ears will float over your head rather than be attached, as well as there's the metal at the bottom of the ears that shows through. Additionally there's the tiara that comes with the ears you're forced to always wear and the design on the ears themselves. Second was that you're very restricted as far as hair color as you have a hard time dying the ears to match your hair, and even if you do, the texture is very wrong, ending up being obviously fabric instead of fur. Lastly there's the problem that while Viera are restricted to what headgear they can wear, if you're using the Gold Saucer ears, your options for headgear are none (though this can admittedly be an issue for those trying to make the female model male since you might be wearing the mustache or beard for your glamor)

It's fine if you don't like what people are doing with them, you have a right to your opinion. But for me, this is the closest I've been able to get, and for now, I'm satisfied with the result. I do wish I could get more manly expression and poses for sure, and I hate that the game refers to me with female pronouns. But it's a matter of choosing which compromises you want to make when trying to make a male look happen, if you're willing to make any at all.

What I'm hoping for with the males is so far from the females in terms of build and facial features (closer to a blend of Au Ra and Elezen male) that using one just wouldn't work for me.

With the certain...behavior that tends to follow male Miqo'te and Hrothgar, I really do think the reasonings for wanting male Viera are less "for the players" than a lot of people are letting on. SE should either consider upping the rating of the game to M or removing male Miqo'te as it is. Things get very, very strange.

Removing cat boys won’t change player behavior. Don’t believe me, watch a pack of roes for a while and you can see it happening. People who want to engage in that type of play will do so regardless of the races on offer. They shouldn’t be the ones who determine what the rest of us have access to.
