Months or years of work (depending on how much you play the game) for a such a common animal? That is truly like never giving us the chocobo for free in ARR but having to work for this ingame. They could have put a special version of the Amaro behind that grind and just give the normal one to us through the story...like they did all the other expansion before that!

Yep! You can level up your classes over the course of months and years for the grand reward of a generic camel chocobo!

The issue is not that there's a mount locked behind all classes - no one complains about the Tiger, or Tank Mounts.

It's the Amaro, a very common animal on the first. We fly them in quests, even in cutscenes, yet we are required to level all 17 combat jobs to get one? This should have been the MSQ mount. Instead...the flying chocobo of the first is the reward for all jobs to 80? Nothing regal, or awesome, or a two seater.

Literally the Chocobo of the First.

    That is frankly dumb.

Yep, my thoughts as well. I love the mount, and I love the lore significance of it, but it is not a worthy prize of such a difficult undertaking. It is akin to our company chocobos, which required a little work but nothing like this. No, I'd actually say it's lesser than the company chocobo because you can't dye it or dress it up.

Going to be blunt: IMO even the amaro is an extremely good reward for something so simple and easy, pretty much a level per day just by doing the roulettes alone. The titles were enough already so the mount is a nice extra.

I disagree. Grinding just three classes to 60+ on roullettes, PotD, and HoH (maybe even fates to shake things up) is draining. It's been a year and I still can't force myself to bother levelling from the ground up. I don't think it's a thing the majority of people "can" do, while a select few could either by buying level skips (but then that would essentially be one pricy-ass common amaro), already had most if not all of their classes to 70, or just resilient like an ox.

If it was Seto - a giant amaro - who was locked behind all 80's requirement (or even another type of "special" amaro) I think people would be more understanding/accepting of that. But these are the very same Amaro that you can use anywhere with an Amaro keep. In other words: they're as plenty and common as Chocobo, as people have been saying. We got our first chocobo via MSQ. We got our black chocobo via MSQ. So, why didn't we get our "first-Chocobo Amaro" via MSQ, and then a special amaro via having all 80's?

I won't be coming back to FFXIV's forums. The forum vibe is way too venomous and brings out the worst in me. I don't like who I am on the forums, so it's best to distance myself.

It's not even the workload involved.

I have two characters, and I've split my jobs across them, I don't play the same job on both characters. Somewhat arbitrary, but I don't wish to have to level any jobs twice.

Every single job is a huge undertaking, for such a mundane mount. Surely a 'complete all level 80 role quests' would be a more fitting task for the Amaro mount.

This is a separate issue from the mount itself. The expansion has been out for a week now, and we have 2 years until the next one. You can level all the jobs with the daily leveling, trial, and 8 man raid roulettes. The armory bonus, earrings, food, manuals, and buffs are more than enough that you can do this by then. The other things you listed you'd only do if you were trying to be as quick as possible.

If you do 1 level per day past lvl 50, that's around 1,5 years...
