The Amaro mount...

Its not that there is a mount behind getting all battle jobs to 80 that is the problem. (And I really wished that you would get mounts for doing the same with crafters and gatherers) The problem is that we do not get a single mount for free by playing through the MSQ like we did in the last expansions. (Some expansions even had more than one free mount) and at the same time the Amaro is just the most common animal you can get on the first.

im not really suffering from a shortage of mounts, so not getting a free one from the MSQ is fine with me. We'll still likely get 2 mounts from beast tribes, theres a craftable one atm as well. I didn't see people really excited about the Yol mount until ShB didn't give a free mount.

I have a huge amount of mounts too but that does not change the fact that we (for the first time) did not get a single free mount from the story and that the one mount that made the most sense is now stuck behind a achievement, when we could have gotten that mount for free in the story (make it even part of it) and have a much better one for the achivement. Win Win for everyone.

people are forgetting this is a game that never ends technically. you have forever to get everything to 80 and get an amaro. it's all a matter of perspective. do you want it now or later?

And it still does not change the fact that we got not a single mount for free this expansion. This is not about having a mount behind that achivement at all. Its about getting no mount reward at all in the MSQ while that animal is so common that it should have been a given that we would get one as a thank you. The reward for the achivement could have been something special.

For me at least it was always awesome to get some story mounts. They always felt like they belonged to the story, to the lore unlike those primal drops or savage mounts. These mounts hold a connection to us. The magitec one saved our lifes, the chocobo was a companion from nearly the very start and thus has been with us for quite some time while fighting on our side. The black chocobo was a well meant present from a good friend and raised by him too. The Yol was a symbol for us winning the rights to take part in the tribe fights. Middy, an old powerful dragon, likes us enough that we earn the ability to ride on his back.

The Amaro could have been another one of those. Maybe one that we save from death in the story, maybe one who disliked humans but found new trust in them through us. Yet the Amaro we get there will have nothing like that. He will just be there in our pocket. No background story, no connection at all. Somehow after getting all of the jobs to 80, he comes to us.
