Let's be honest and I hope someone reads my comment and takes it to heart please.

We have been shown time and time again a persons or companies integrity can be bought for a price. Those in media "journalists", reviewers (both movie and video game and products) and influencers.

All that being said whenever you read a review, just ask yourself how much money was this person offered by a company to slander their competitors.

Remember this when you watch hit pieces, media, or reviews. Dont feed into it and don't support it, even if it's in your interests. Don't sell out.

I mean I enjoy BDO but I also enjoy other MMOs as well...

I think the weirdest part is he enjoys BDO.. but comments that FFXIV is too grindy. It's just.. inconsistent.

So you think someone who likes PB&J can't also enjoy a ham sammich? Liking one MMO doesn't say anything except that they like that MMO. I like city builders but I also like RTS and I also like MMOs and I also like RPGs. Liking one thing does not exclude someone from liking other things. It also does not diminish their critique of a title.

Video has 6.2k likes and 7.8k dislikes so clearly most of the people disagrees with him, also most all the comment section says that they love the game. Not worried that this will affect the population in general but I understand the game is not for everyone.

This isn't a new phenomenon.
There was a time when 'professional reviewers' were expected to offer some degree of impartiality, to attempt to give an objective review. Nowadays anyone can present their 'review' which are actually just their opinions, which should be held no higher than anyone else's opinion.

There is a lot of truth in what he’s saying. Early leveling is really slow to get going. You really have to push through it to enjoy the game. I get where he is coming from as a new player. I got sick of reading all the story quest and kind of just get the general idea of what’s going on. Now I’m really enjoying it….it’s different but if you give it time it really grows on you.

I guess that what people mean when they say "well he likes BDO" isn't that you can't like both, but BDO is pretty much the opposite of what FFXIV is, while one is a story-based MMORPG with dungeons, raids, etc, BDO doesn't have any focus on history nor instanced content and it more pvp-oriented. Sure, you can like both, but they're very clashing tastes. It's not surprising that a FFXIV fan wouldn't like BDO or vice-versa.

Exactly. He's used to having freedom to do what he wants right out of the gate in BDO opposed to having to unlock stuck through a drawn-out story. I've seen this first hand trying to get my gf into FF. She loves games like Skyrim but when she played FF, all I heard was so when do I get to actually play? She got to lv17 before she got bored and gave up.

So it's impossible to try the game and dislike it ? Making post like these is just as ridiculous as calling anyone with a positive opinion about something a paid shill.

I can understand a lot of points he made, looking back on my own experiences. I feel he missed only one crucial point. This is very much a game, content wise at least, best done with friends. I only came back to this game due to friends and together that made the content much more enjoyable and fun. Trying to tackle on the party content alone all the time. Yeah I'd probably have stayed retired and I can't fault him for his comments.
