So it's impossible to try the game and dislike it ? Making post like these is just as ridiculous as calling anyone with a positive opinion about something a paid shill.

I think the point made was that if someone shows irrational dislike of something (like the fact that some of his negative points are actually major parts of other games he likes) maybe be a little suspicious of their motives and bias.
People can dislike games sure, and the reviewer has a few valid points that are universally disliked, but he's weirdly negative about things he forgives other games for or doesn't even mention about them.

To give this xpac a legit thumbs-down/pass-on-it wave seems like clickbait to me.

While I am still waiting for recency bias to wear off (having just finished MSQ yesterday), I can't say I'm surprised by someone who took a moniker from a WoW character casting this game in a negative light.

I couldn't care less of his opinion, for I've played the game and formed my own.

I've gotta admit, after watching the review, I 100% agree. Level 1-50 is awful for leveling, especially the 101 fetch quests from the end of ARR to get to HW.

Still, I feel it's the hours of buildup and little bits of story along with the fetch quests that that made ShB's story really come together and you miss out on a lot if you just skip it all. Could it be done better? Of course. Generally those quests are rather bland.

He seems pretty ignorant in most of what he says. He obviously doesn't play games for story, which FFXIV is a story-based game. Personally, I found his video to be utter bull. He also seems like a real miserable person IRL.

Shadowbringers leveling is less fun than leveling in 14s other expansions.

It's a game that isnt well designed for grind (as eureka exposed) that requires roughly half of every level to be grinded in order to progress the msq.

It was the least fun I've had with any 14 expansion launch, and being exceptionally pretty doesnt make that point invalid.

All mmorpgs have story, just because ffxiv is designed to throw it in your face doesn't mean it's any more story based than another. WoW has lots of lore/story to it for example, but you don't find yourself leveling the same way as ffxiv.

The above is the main point in the video, the story is told in a way that feels awful and dragged out purposefully to them and to others as well I'm sure, as other games don't do what ffxiv does to tell their story.

If you think he is biased that's fine but he is literally describing exactly what you do word for word in each MSQ/leveling/situation to reach end-game.

That said, people criticizing someone for their opinion and picking apart their youtube channel/subs/voice/comments/calling them a loser etc is just rich. people, lol.

I just said at the end even if it's in your interest dont support these people. So even if the review says "Shadowbringers" is the best, do not feed into the machine.

My point is all these people are not professionally reviewing any of these things with Integrity, INTEGRITY! Anyone who can be swayed by a dollar cannot be trusted period. This mentality has slimed it way through every aspect of the internet and its gross.

So what I'm saying is these reviews, for or against are financed by competitors or themselves, people do it in politics, and business, in workplace drama.
