Will class job quests not give you a new set of gear early on? I am not sure if they are now doing it as role types IE DPS / Healer / Tank class quest chains, rather than being class/job focused?
You only gained your artifact gear in the 70 quest for SB and just exp/gil from the job quests at 60/63/65/68, and the same will probably be true for SHB with just exp/gil/story from the role quests.
MSQ and Sidequests WILL give gear, though dungeon gear will still be better overall.
Something that I'm noticing no one is mentioning is to increase your Grand Company Rank to Captain. This will require you to level up your adventurer squadrons to rank 3 and also do 5 unique missions. I've been looking around and seeing that not many people have a Captain rank since it didn't add much of anything to the list of stuff you can buy with your seals, but it will be required if they add a new GC rank in Shadowbringers. In fact, I expect there to be a torrent of "How do I reach Captain rank" question threads on this forum if they end up putting something good behind the new rank.
With the world visit system, would it make sense to park our characters in a less crowded server to queue in initially?
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I only started on early access for Stormblood, so I was going through 1 to 70 in about 4-5 weeks and as a DRG I remember having new bits of gear every few levels. You only gained your artifact gear in the 70 quest for SB and just exp/gil from the job quests at 60/63/65/68, and the same will probably be true for SHB with just exp/gil/story from the role quests.

This has not been a requirement for rested xp since 2.1. Rested XP is generated within a main city or in the vicinity of any Aetheryte (a sanctuary). A moon icon appears next to the xp bar to indicate this, and the message "You have entered a sanctuary." appears in chat.

The devs actually suggested this as well at the last live letter I think. Course it depends on how many people decide to do that.
Think if most of Balmung went to different servers for that and thus it was the best server to log on at launch XD
Mateus too. We RPers gotta make it a little easier for folks to get around. lol
