Hairstyle Concerns for The New Races

Lets not forget that they have waited to tell us about genderlocks until the last fanfest, even saying nothing much when directly asked about male Viera afterwards. (And of course this falls into a time when people already preordered) Which then made it even worse for quite some people when they revealed Hrothgar.

Can't really fault them for that. They wanted to hold the reveal of Hrothgar so they said things that hinted at something would be revealed for people who play males in the upcoming fanfest.
Coulda been handled better and he says that they will learn from that going forward.
Kind of a shit position to be in. Either hold Viera reveal for the JPN fanfest and reveal them at the same time, making people think "Heey, they saved all the good stuff for Japan" or spoil the reveal of Hrothgar. There's a line between that and they didn't hit it perfectly.

Instead of telling us directly at the female Viera reveal that the males wont happen but there is something else in return, they decided to stay quiet about it until the last one. Then they told us about the restriction with the headgear but didnt tell us about the limits with their hair. So no they were not fully transparent with it after the race reveal, otherwise they would have told us that they are restricted in that department too.

You do realize that they didn't have a press release telling us about the head gear, right? Someone asked how headgear would work on these unique head having races in an interview and Yoshi answered it plainly, stating there would be none on release and bit-by-bit they would make some compatible over time. No lies or half truths.
I see no reason to think they wouldn't have told us about hair had the someone interviewing them actually asked about it at any time before now.

Being transparent doesn't mean you have to offer up every bit of information unprompted, it means you're open and honest. Post reveal they've been nothing but open with sharing information about the new races when asked about it.. Hell, I think everything we KNOW about the development of the races came from interviews.

On top of all of that people just dislike the limitation itself, which is why some of us are still disappointed even if more are coming..because it will probably be always less then other races have and may mean that other races will get less too because we already got less hairstyles over the last expansion..So no matter how transparent they are (or not), people are still allowed to dislike the choice.

Oh, I think there's a basic misunderstanding here.

Idga* about you liking the choice to have their hair tied to their face or not. But for us all to read the same answer to this question and for some (who aren't happy with the very concept) to try brush off the news or take it as a straight up lie to down play it for others ... that is just non-sense. It's cynicism for the purpose of spreading your negativity.

If you're someone who accepted this choice/ is fine with this choice / doesn't think this choice is the end of the world then this is good news for you. You get confirmation of more options to come. That's not a spin lol
If you're not a fan of the design choice OK, doesn't mean you gotta cry doom and gloom over everything said about it and act like these words can't be trusted for what they are just to rewrite the situation to spread your out look.


Let's make something clear, I don't think anyone prefers this to being able to swap hair styles freely. I don't. But I also know it's not the end of the world so I'm OK with it and I don't ignore the unique freedoms this race already has (Fur and patterns. VASTLY different face features) in favor of acting like they're lacking in that regard. I've already made more than one I'm very happy with and hearing there's gonna be more options to come is nothing but good news.

So yeah, you can stay salty if you want. But when you act like we're being lied to just cause you're not happy that's a ... silly problem.

My point is that the 400-500 headgear adjustment to new races were only started when the Japanese community strongly gave feedback to the devs asking them to do something about it. Information, if you find it pointless, each his/her own i guess.

He literally said in his video "A lot of people might get the wrong impression here that i hate the hrothgar for some reason or something with how much i don't like it's creation here and that's simply just not the case, let me set that record straight."
So what you are doing is, spun his opinion to suit your agenda and trying to public slander him here or something?

LMAO, I'm talking about this.
You know, the lines right before he said what you quoted. He's faulting Hrothgar for having the same CC limits as every other race in regards to face tattoos or face features being "baked into the face". As I said, tattoos and face features are locked to the face for all races which he apparently doesn't realize. Also doesn't realize that sometimes "tattoos" aren't actual tattoos. Shows that he does have a clear lack of understanding of this game's CC with lil interest in analyzing it. He then uses it as a spring board to get defensive over people giving him heat for not playing males (as if he's insecure about that), completely disregards their unique identifying features and so on until he comes to the conclusion that the race was "rushed" and he would have preferred Male Viera.

Not spinning anything, just used him and legit things said by him as an example of what I see here.(I don't even personally fault most for this, it can be hard to tell just how much diversity or effort been put into character models when you can only see them in a few outfits and not in the wilds of a game like this.)
I mean ... what you quoted means nothing if the reasoning he gives makes no sense. It's like the classic line "I'm not racist but..."

I'm gonna call that fake news. Unless you have an evidence to back that claim. There is no clarification from the devs that those from potd/mogstation will be usable or unusable. All yoshi-p stated was hrothgar will get it's unique customization and viera will get some but not all and in no way did he confirmed that potd/mogstation/achievement hairstyles is confirmed to be included either. I know this because i translated part of the E3 information on reddit.

We have SOME clarification on the state of things. We at least now know that Viera wont get all the shared hair/ only get "some" and we know Hrothgar will get more Hrothgar hairs and faces.

We don't have all the answers but more than we had before. [/Spoiler]
