Increase Furnishing Limit

In a 4gamer interview, Yoshi P stated that they are not increasing the furnishing item limit. You already need to close off at least 1/3 of your house to make a nice non-basic design. I think we should at least get 600 items.

More stuff in a house? Many I've visited are so stuffed with junk that I can barely move, let alone see anything because my camera is constantly being blocked. Usually, I just have to get out of these ASAP.

But there are many small things, carpets, some walls, windows for more light, flowers (i can barely place any as they take up so many slots >_>) ....food in kitchens and even though i dont use gliches, some use absurd amounts of items despite barely using actually room.

My fc house isnt even that full but i had to stop decorating as im on like 396/400 >_>

Just because it's not on the front page doesn't mean it's not being translated and pushed higher up. If you think your thread isn't getting attention, bump it. Promote discussion if it's really worth discussing. Or bump a higher traffic thread that has the same suggestion since those have been resurrected and continuously discussed in before.

I decorate with fine detail, or build things using like 3 other things combined. So my furniture slots get taken up very fast and I have to delete entire sections of upper floors via walls. I'd say 600/400/300 for an increase. Larges have it the hardest because you get a lot of space but can't fill it out unless you throw in like 10 (ugly) Vortex couches.

Yes that sucks the most. Yet on smal ones you cant place like 1/4 the times without blocking them... Our kitchen isnt evne that filled, we use the upper right room in our house and yet its like 80 slots or smt.

And then there that NPC and chests etc too... just like for the garden they should at least add those 10-15 slots for basic needs.

What?! They're not?! Damn, I was really hoping they would, if not 100 slots then at least maybe 50. I have a few touches I'd like to add to my house here and there.

I believe we should get an increase of 50% in capacity for both indoor and outdoor furnishings.


I haven't used all indoor slots yet but I've come close to it, outdoor slots are the bigger problem, there are simply not enough slots and I feel increasing them should be a priority.


I wish SE would implement a layout system that allowed us to save and then load furnishing combinations instantly to be able to adapt to different seasons during the year, this way we could use ginkgo trees and maple trees during fall and the snow furnishings during winter and so on!...

Having a small house, I find the number of furnishings I'm allowed to be more than enough, but when it has come to working with my FC to furnish our mansion, we're frequently running into issues of not being able to really do up the house interior nicely, so it would be nice to see larger houses get more space to work with... or... have furnishing size be a determining factor of how much of the allowance an item is using up. The lit cigar taking up as much space in the housing size limit as the elephant statue is a bit baffling, and letting small decorative items maybe not take up a full housing item slot would be a fix.

However I will add that for small plots, the limits for storage are an issue I run into. I change the trees and items in my lawn to reflect the season, and I have to keep several items in retainer inventories because I can't store all the fall trees, snow, spring trees, leaf piles and everything else in my outside storage room.

I have a mansion and the furnishing limit is a bit of a problem. A number of my rooms look kind of bare and I've even closed off one of the upstairs rooms. I generally strive for minimalism, but even I think some of my rooms are just too plain. And with more housing items released every patch, the limit becomes more and more of a burden. Just an increase of 50 might be enough for me to at least open all the rooms.

Small houses tend to be cramped. Mediums seem to be a sweet spot. Its larges that are a problem. Three times the size of a medium with only 25% more capacity.
