All these changes to PvE; Charge skills, Shields showing on HP bar, TP removal, Gauge adjustments, and new skills. No clue if any of that is coming to PvP because there was zero mention of it at all... Should we just assume, after two years of hoping for positive changes to PvP, that 5.0 wont change a damn thing then? So tired of the radio silence PvP receives from the development team... Not even an "Of course, Dancer and Gunbreaker will be coming to PvP", kinda feel like that needs clarifying when Blue Mage could easily have but didn't...
You've got a Live Letter with over 60,000 viewers despite almost an hour of technical difficulties, talking about the upcoming expansion and the various changes to content it will bring, and absolutely nothing is done to involve the PvP community in that... Sends an absolutely horrible message to the community, IMO. FATEs are more important than PvP, I guess... I get PvP is typically met with ResidentSleeper spam when it is (rarely) mentioned, but part of me thinks that has something to do with the fact that there is just nobody talking about it with anything remotely resembling enthusiasm... Yoshida seems to talk about eating steak for longer and with more enjoyment than he ever has about PvP... The development team seems to show no confidence in the game mode, so why should the players?
We'll probably get our own little mention at some point, off in the corner somewhere, segregated off from the rest of the XIV playerbase, just to appease those who still play PvP in this game... Wont bring in any new players though, 99% of the audience for that stream, or article, or whatever, are going to be existing PvPers hoping for something, anything... I'd thought the FRC might be a turning point for PvP in this game, but I guess it was more of a death rattle...
