    It's possible FFXIV is using those zeroconf abilities provided by Bonjour.

    As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

    Bonjour for Windows adds zeroconf abilities to IE and provides implementation to JVMS, and FF14 launcher relies on that to function correctly.

    Edit: You agreed when you agreed you install it.

    A lot of other things use it besides apple software.
