Is this thread real? Are people's sexuality so fragile a video game character makes them insecure? Oooof.

Rest your weary head on my bosom is a mom thing. Shes trying to be comforting to the character, shes not saying come motorboat these tiddies.
I treat it as magically induced. Your character doesn't have to be attracted to her. It's basically mind control, wresting control of your character's mind and FORCING them to fall into it. And that can be an unnerving concept, having your mental faculties taken away from you. In a sense, being twisted into something you're not and having your free will taken away and forced to adore and admire your captor is a pretty horrific fate. It doesn't even have to be a lgbt thing, a straight male character could not be into Lakshmi or succubi and still fall for these spells, just as straight women can and still find the idea of being mind controlled into it horrifying.
However, I don't have a problem with these spells existing. The IC implications of them are potentially scary. And it is a little suspicious that it's almost always a female being using charm spells in fantasy games in general. (Not that male entities never do but it's more common with female ones.) But I don't have an actual problem with them in the game, just as I don't have a problem with the game's allusions to darker subject matter like rape/stds you can find if you pay attention, or death and murder and torture etc.

You must be very insecure and fragile to even think to come up with such a thread.
It's things like that and half naked gross parades that people can't take seriously the whole LGBT community.
Meanwhile there are serious LGBT people out there trying to fight for their rights and equality.
The whole "everything offends me" thing went too far nowadays.
Sorry but I can't take seriously such threads.

Youre thinking to deep. Its a Primal/God/Edritch Horror/FlyingSpagettiMonster. Meaning, whatever you think goes, doesnt. Doesnt matter what your character is, the Diety figure overrides it. Even if you take away from the God-aspect, it's still magic, and you still are (in this universe) susceptible to it regardless of your character's canon orientation. The spell operates like that.
The framing youre getting hosed on is the assumption that this 'overwrites' a core aspect of your character, rather than over rides. Youre character is the same, theyre just being mind controlled to behave differently. I mean the confusion spell operates similarly. You wouldnt attack your allies normally, but for a brief period of time you do.
You shouldnt let it bother you. It's a perspective issue. I think you might be winding yourself up over something that is literally just "Hey its magic". In fact, the take away is a life experience for your character. How would your character feel after said magic. Would they find it indignant, creepy, interesting? Would they laugh it off after a while or become more stoic about it. Game mechanics like this, can add complexity to your character by presenting unusual life experiences. Even if your character was canonically straight, would they be overjoyed to jump in her bossum against their will? How would they react? Etc.
Have fun with the game, and try not to think to deeply about things being problematic, but rather interesting things to encounter and deal with. As I said, its about perspective.

You're thinking way too deep. Like step away form the computer its time for a break level too deep. Now you may be thinking "ok why does the move scare you?" my character Garoth Gragonith, is a canotical gay Roegadyn Male within the Eorzea lore. He has no attractions to females at all, nor does he have any attractions to goddesses or ladies of the insert location here.
Lakshmis skill just rubs me the wrong way, like I know it's not exactly what it seems but it's literally how it's being described to be within the canon of the battle. "Rest your weary head on my bosom" Unless its a fellow Roebro Garoth will do no such thing.
And this isnt an isolated incident either, the Ruby Princess which can be found in the Violent Tides dungeon, she can utilize a skill literally called "Seduce" which unless you use the games mechanics and transform yourself into an old lady in a cloak, she will cast the spell and your hero will run towards her and take critical damage.
Charm/Seduce/Allure/Attract spells in general just give me the creeps. I know its fantasy and again I know its not exactly what it seems but the way the game is spelling it out for me its literally looking as such.
Now Im sure some of you will counter and say "Your only saying this because they are women if they were big burly husky monster men you would not care one bit" Not True!
Ramuh, our lovable big bearded lightning God can also utilize a sort of charm spell which if struck will cause the players to fall for Ramuh and go haywire on the battlefield! This move can only be relived after a short countdown.
My overall point is this, these kinds of skills/spells just make me feel uncomfortable. And I know this game isnt suppose to bend to my will but consider this.
Imagine if your a F/F or a M/F player, your having fun your running through dungones with the girl/guy of your dreams then here comes a boss fight which consists of an elzen solider man. With a snap of his finger he can cast allure, which will attract you if dodged incorrectly and youll rush over to him to receive a slash damage.
Wouldnt that make you uncomfortable? An enemy essentially turning you into something that your not? Basically making you love/fall for something or someone would would never find attractive/be with in your life?
I know many people will see this as a troll post and thats ok. People are entitled to their opinions and its opinion I value. I could easily just scream nothingness on a blog or an empty chat room but I do genuanly believe people read these and offer constructive feedback! Plus its fun to read some of your responses lol
So I ask, what's your opinion on skills/spells like these? Are my fears justified or am I thinking to deep? Do you share the same sentiments?
"Sometimes I wonder I heal for fun. or if I heal because I'm a glutton for punishment."

This has gotta be a troll, no way anyone can take that mechanic THAT seriously.

I like this guy. He’s hilarious!

Has no one noticed all the threads this guy makes are bait threads?
