Without the whole fall in love thing, that has been the MO of every primal so far. They take over the minds of their thralls.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

So I love me some Hindu lore so lemme drop some info about Lakshmi.
Lakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of wealth, fortune, and prosperity. She's associated with lotus petals because the lotus is symbolism for fortune, self-knowledge and spiritual liberation. More importantly the lotus can bloom in either clean or dirty water which can symbolize purity regardless of the good or bad circumstances that it grows from.
So the big draw of Lakshmi in XIV is that she's a primal summoned by the ananta as their goddess. Lakshmi in game simply wants to grant the wishes for people who "dream". However the big thing is in XIV she's a fake goddess, and can only simply let them "dream" that they have achieved their true happiness.
Lemme pull some lyrics from her trial son to give you a better idea:
"Rise high, High above our rivals, Spread our wings, Spread them wide, Let them fly,
Keep high, Free to ever slumber, Open the door, Close our eyes, We are the dreamers,"
compared to the second verse:
Rise high, High above your rivals, Spread your wings, Spread them wide, You needn't hide,
Keep high, Free to ever slumber, Open the door, Close your eyes, You are the dreamer.
Notice how the first lyrics talk about our and we, while the second lyrics talk about you? She's seducing you with song making you become a dreamer. The song itself is even titled Beauty's Wicked Whiles to add to this.
The "Rest your weary souls in my bosom" line is more of a motherly term. It's just saying something on the lines of "Let me take care of you" and not meant to be taken sexually. Albeit with the hearts and visuals I can see why that would be an immediate conclusion for some.
Sexual attraction may seem like the main idea behind her but it's honestly not, I think it's more so the idea of her that makes her so attracting. She's granting dreams/happiness but at the cost of blissful ignorance.

So Garoth isnt really being drawn to her as an individual but rather the promise she will make all of his dreams come true.So I love me some Hindu lore so lemme drop some info about Lakshmi.

Nothing is meant to be taken seriously that everyone is attracted to her, I think it's more so the idea of her that makes her so attracting. She's granting dreams but at the cost of blissful ignorance.
I like that. It beats the heck outta turning him straight which is what I initially thought she was doing lol

Exactly! She constantly refers to herself as the Goddess of Bliss, so it explains a lot when your character just has the hearts over their head and doing the dance. You can actually get the emote from that fight in game doing the Ananta beast tribes. The emote itself is charmed and it's even meant to replicate snake charming which is a big thing in Hindu culture.
Yeah Yoshi-P himself has been open about LGBT so I would be horrified if he did something like that. He recently talked about his views on trans rights and how it factors into him trying to offer more outfits that are unisex for XIV and how he wants to do more for it in regards to eternal bonding.

So I have good faith he would never do something like that as he wants XIV to honestly be your character story. Assassin's Creed Oddyssey got into a HUGE tussle as the first dlc came out basically did what you thinking XIV did. It forced you to marry a character of the opposite sex regardless if you were already romantically engaged with someone of the same sex by the end of the base game. They even released a trophy/achievement called "Growing Up" for the event which people were in an uproar about so much they changed the name of almost instantly.
This is a SJW.....and this....*powers up* THIS is what is known as a SJW ascended past a SJW....or, you can just call this a super SJW 2....

I love snowflakes ^_^ I've always been a big fan of the snow growing up as a kid and I love games that offer ice/frost spells to magician classes.
Maybe I'll make a post about snow mages ♡♡ and one of the spells can be snowflake storm!

On a serious note I'm not sure if we are Role playing? Or it's a real fear.
It was merely me discussing my genuine fear of charm/entice spells in this and games in general
Truthfully i was being sincere and I actually had alot of people actually help me get over my fears alittle.
I know alot of people dont care but I love this game and I love learning about other peoples opinions and what they have to say!
The other people I just ignore lol its thanks to them that my posts are kept alive and well so the discussions can continue and I thank them for it.

I just want to say it's really cool that you actually read the posts and thought about what people said. Mad respect to you. I'm glad you feel you understand the game better now and are happier for it as well.It was merely me discussing my genuine fear of charm/entice spells in this and games in general
