Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

I personally think that male viera and female hrotgar is something they likely knew players were gonna demand, and perhaps knew they were gonna have to make them for 6.0, so while this isn't any sort of confirmed thing, I do think it's quite likely they might have started planning them/working on them

Again, they've specifically stated that there are technical issues standing in the way of getting these other two character models in game. I understand you want to be excited for something, but don't be a hype man and build or set an expectation that they'll be around by 6.0. If it somehow gains a following, then we'll just have another huge uproar at the devs over something that wasn't promised.

TLDR: Set expectations to a realistic level and be patient. I honestly hope we're don't see them by 6.0 so that they aren't rushed or messy.

Rushed and messy in 2 years? They took 1.5 years to do this models, and they'll most likely reuse most of the things from the current genders. Also, be patient? You are expecting ppl to be calmly and patiently waiting for 4 years for something that all the way back on 1.0 they were told they weren't gonna have to wait for ? (yes, they said no genderlocked races)

2 years is a long time, but something I guess I'll wait. If they aren't here at 6.0, like I previously said, I'll make my subscription extremely limited and stop completely buying anything that's not 100% required to play the base game

Oh, and it isnt just me who is expecting them at 6.0. Many,many ppl do, and you'll see that if u go arround the forums, so regardless of what I do or say, if the devs don't give us the missing genders at 6.0 there will be another massive uproar, and it's the devs themselves who got this upon themselves. Had they only did 1 race, no uproar would have happened, or at least nothing remotely close to this one

I also don't get why wouldn't you want them to be here at 6.0. You probably got the race/gender combo you wanted (guessing here, if not let me know) so enjoy your race/gender combo and let others not have to wait for 4 years to get theirs. Bet you wouldn't like it if you had to wait for 4 years to get yours while seeing how everyone else got theirs and spams pictures of how amazing it is everywhere

Honestly I get they don’t have the money and resources now but why can’t they at least confirm they will be coming? They don’t have to confirm a date or a certain expansion but just confirm they will happen. They should eventually have money and the resources to do so, it’s not like they won’t. So why not just a simple yes but don’t know when.

Because it's more of a liability than profit to them. They won't put their necks on the line for something they're not sure if they'll have the resources to do. And if they confirmed it and it didn't happen, that's another uproar they could have saved themselves the headache from.

If they can 100% know it's going to happen, they could confirm it. That being said, it would make more sense to reveal it at the FanFest and tease it from 5.0-5.5. I think the devs simply showed us the carrot here, pulled it back, told us we aren't getting it soon, making us go hungry, and then givng us the carrot and making it 1000 more times sweeter (a.k.a, teaseing male viera, saying 'nope , here you have your beast male only race' creating a demand for female hrot at the same time, getting higer demand for male viera and female hrotgar, making players reeeeally want them, and then, boom, release it, and get 100x more sales and good press than you would've done otherwise

With this post and the one after, you show your true colors. Yes, I ask that you be patient for something that isn't promised to us because patience is a virtue not many have anymore. You encompass many in your blanket statement which is never good. If 6.0 comes around and you throw a big fit again over something that they specially said wasn't guaranteed, then you'll just paint this community in a horrible light. If that's how you want to do this, you go right ahead. It'll alienate people from your cause.

As for what I wanted, I had no real desire for new races, and my expectations were not really set on anything. Hrothgar was a pleasant surprise to me, and something I had wanted from early on in the game because it adds a beastly race that this mmo lacks. However what I wanted doesn't cloud my support for male viera. Although with each piece of lashing out you do, I grow less sympathetic. You can't accept opposing opinions. Also, yes, I'd like them to spend time on the missing models as well as the current ones. They won't be reusing assets. I don't know where you get that from but it's misguided.

The development team have already told people not to get their hopes up. We might yet see the missing genders added at some point in the future. Equally, though, we might not. There's clearly some demand for them but demand does not equal 'definitely happening' and I don't want to see people blaming the development team if it does not happen. It just isn't a priority at the moment for them.

Now that I'm not busy, I want to comment directly about these parts. They had specifically said in the past that if they did female viera, they'd do a different male race. This was said way back. You set an expectation for yourself and when you ignored reason, you got upset at the devs. This was said AFTER the no gender lock comment. Just because you want and hope for something does not guarantee it will happen. This is important to understand. I am hopeful male viera will happen, but I'm setting realistic expectations.

The last part is just a childish ultimatum. Please don't try to drag everyone in this thread down with you.
