I didnt read everything but i think the OP is just a bully who tryes to justify his actions. Who cares if someone wears the wrong gear while lvling. It hardly makes any difference and in the worst case you finish the dungeon 1 minute later so what.

The only time I usually ever check peoples gear is when things go really bad and if the healer has a item level 30 weapon in level 50+ extreme duty, the only thing I say is, that is a nice stick, no kicks from me though.
TIL wearing the wrong gear is "fun" for some people. Because who cares about the the fun of the other 3-7 people, right? They should carry the guy that doesn't want to do the bare minimum to be in the duty (proper gear), who probably doesn't even know his proper rotation either, because someone lazy enough to not get some pretty easy-to-get gear I highly doubt is gonna put the time learning his job either.
Personally, I wish they would put item-level requirements in leveling dungeons. >w>()
You wouldn't believe the number of times I've gotten ARR or HW dungeons where people would wear whatever they could just to be able to queue for the dungeon.
I've had dungeons run where both DPS were wearing crafting and/or gathering gear or runs where the tank wore caster/healer gear.
They should make NQ leveling gear cheaper and more readily available too.
I don't think it's a matter of the wrong gear, it's a matter of having the bare minimum to do the content. This is an rpg, with stats and numbers. I've had healers that can't heal a tank that was only pulling 3 or 4 mobs. I've been there where my gear was making it hard on everyone because I couldn't keep up. If that sort of attitude persists that folks don't need the minimum ilvl for a duty then they end up staying that way. I met a tank in Byakko that had gear nowhere near the minimum requirement to get in, but because he made a pf. Him and a friend who both weren't geared properly used the fact that duty finder ignores comp and ilvl in a preformed party to get in. They both ended up dying constantly. Not just to the mechanics, but to aoes and the tank couldn't weather the tank busters or the stack and slam. What did they say when I pointed out their gear wasn't good enough to let them through the fight? They said "skill was more important than numbers." Numbers are everything in this game. To a degree a lot of your gear may be able to cut it if its 5 maybe 10 ilvls lower than it should, but you need to at least average out to the content. This game isn't monster hunter. You can't dodge all day and avoid all damage. The mechanics are designed around the entire party having the numbers to do and survive the bare minimum.

Accessories are role-restricted from L70. I'd imagine if they even just agreed to click the Recommended Gear button it would significantly improve a situation where they were wearing L60 accessories intended for another role. If SE's own auto-recommendations system didn't convince them they are the wrong type of accessories, what would?
If it's an alliance raid, there are 23 people and you really don't notice the difference if a few of them go AFK, so their gear doesn't matter. I don't personally spend my time in alliance raids examining the gear of 23 people. I hope you don't get hit by anything whilst studying all of their gear.![]()
I agree with OP, I'm sorry I used to say it didn't matter but it's this kind of behavior that have people wearing extra low ilvl gear as well, making leveling dungeons a pain. Had a tank in Bardem getting one shot by the bosses leaving the dragoon to tank most of it becuase he was wearing the freaking shire gear not augmented just plain ole shire gear.
Is a vendor in every settlement not enough?
What is with the vendors in the main cities, Ishgard and Reach?
Isn't this enough to be readily available?
Maybe it could be cheaper but that is mostly not the problem.
You lose about 10% dps if you switch to wrong primary stat accessories, thats all.TIL wearing the wrong gear is "fun" for some people. It wont ruin a game for you or anyone else if 1 person out of 4 will do 10% less, take it easy. Probably ilevels someone is running has more impact on synced duties than accessories, in fact items on dungeon ilvl are potentially better than someone running it at lvl 70 character.

It's encouraging laziness. Just another example of how the casual side of the community are some of the most selfish and inconsiderate people you'll ever come across in this game. All they care about is their own experience. You lose about 10% dps if you switch to wrong primary stat accessories, thats all.

If someone can't be bothered to get level-appropriate gear for their job, they can go jump into someone else's backpack. I won't be carrying them.
