Well, I was thinking this was all circled around normal dungeon runs.If a player can't afford npc gear, then they're still not ready for group content.
If you can't afford to level a different job, then it's time to learn how to earn gil before continuing.
Sorry to be so callous, but I have zero sympathy for players that think so much of themselves they feel a party is obligated to help them without putting in anything themselves.
I think people are taking this a little too serious to be honest.
I just try to play the game, not sit and analyses everyone's gear.
i do all the time. usually its because its a healer in a stormblood leveling dungeon asking me to single pull because theyre wearing i200 gear or less.I have never thought about kicking someone because of gear, though sometimes I will ask if they have anything better, since it could just be a mistake. I have entered dungeons without the right shoes (or any shoes) after an upgrade for example.
If the difference is only 10% for one player then it is basically in the noise for most DF content.
the most recent time was a sch wearing a mix of ironworks and primal gear with a crafted garuda book. in sirensong. yeah i kicked them at the first available opportunity.

People who choose to wear shit gear in levelling dungeons are one of the worst kind of players in this game. I'm still seeing this while levelling tanks in dungeons such as Bardam's Mettle. That i148 weapon is really going to deal some damage to these mobs pal, good job! Just add another 20 minutes to the run why don't you? Repeat ad nauseum for another expansion.
Am I the only one who's saving up tons of gil in order to prevent this kind of thing? Yeah, crafted gear may not be BiS, but it's tradable and can be obtained immediately without having to unlock tomestone vendors and what-not.

Eh. I'd be on your side if they wore Crocs or slops or some truly EGREGIOUS fashion faux pas, but inspecting every lowbie's rings and what not is too much imo.

PTSD of running with players in shire gear in Doma castle...People who choose to wear shit gear in levelling dungeons are one of the worst kind of players in this game. I have a confession. When I leveled my mch I auto equiped str accessories from when I leveled sam. I did not change them out til the Aery/Vault. I am a terrible person, but in each dungeon I usualpy was somehow, regrettably the highest dps. I will take my punishment now.

The sad part is, gear is practically thrown at people just by questing. I don't have every single dungeon set for my soon to be Gunbreaker, but I made sure I had all the questing/crafted pieces from 64-68, with a planned full Scaevan set waiting at 70. It's...really not a hard process. People just tend to be lazy sometimes when they're leveling. As a dps it's a bit easier to get by with this mentality....but as a tank or healer? Yeah, good luck downing bosses in Doma Castle or Castrum Abania if all you have is Shire gear. It is made worse by inexperience.People who choose to wear shit gear in levelling dungeons are one of the worst kind of players in this game. It's more that if gear is so bad someone notices how bad it is... boot.

If you can't pick up some NQ white gear from an NPC to give you some baseline stats across the gear board, then I will do my best to put you back into a position where you can.
Helping one to better ones self is not bullying. It may just be a hard lesson, is all.
