Bashing the masculine aesthethic has been this thread's go to since the start.

Compare this to the (Female) Viera request thread where we never went into "I want them to look like Beyonce, big butts, super pretty face."

Nope. I don't want that at all. I'm just saying that SE could do that if they wanted to. Also, I'd encourage you all to re-read my post since I edited it accordingly to the responses I saw that made me understand that it was worded horribly

Like I said, my wordings weren't correct, and in my native language saying to a men that they don't look like men, is very offensive, and I'm obviously not as familiar with english as most of you probably are, so I apologize if I sounded aggressive or something like that

Also, I have been a supporter for muscled bunny men for quite a while now (I always wanted them like my signature, which is between elezen and male au ra, but with a bit more bulk

I don't really think so, but from now on I will try to word things better myself. The only idea I've seen bashed was that they should look like kul'tiran humans, and like I said, I'd really like to have actual human beings on the game and not only hulks or flawless supermodels, but they shouldn't hijack male viera into that imo. Sorry if I have come as disrespectful towards you or the masculine asthetic, and I'll do my best to change that from now on

Also, I would like to apologize if I've come across as abrasive to some in this thread. I'm still young and would describe myself as "dumb" in the sense I have a tendency to speak before I think. I'm still learning how to properly formulate a response in my head before simply allowing my emotions to spit out the first response that comes into my head. So if I've upset anyone, I'm sorry, that really isn't my intent.

That being said, this is also how I've found myself confusing myself on the point of equating elegance with feminine. Both Arngrim and Amnmaat have actually corrected me on that, so, genuinely, thanks guys. So, with seeing as how just wanting elegant options alongside rough/rugged options is all I'm looking for; I personally find I don't have any skin in the masculine/feminine debate. I'd be fine with however they turn out in that regard. However, I have a feeling the masculine option is going to be much more likely seeing as how feminine the female Viera are. I think SE would want to make a masculine mViera to complement that. That's just my guess though, and only time will tell of course.

PS: I also have been having a lot of fun practicing my debating skills on you guys, even if I haven't been doing it so well. So, thanks for that too guys.

Tbh all sides have been at each other for what the male viera COULD look like and putting down anyone with an opposing opinion so all i am going to ask is that 1 out of the 4 faces be allowed to be customizable to look feminine/androgynous just like the females can do with a more masculine appearance.

At the end of the day they will most likely be using the concept art from HW. They will most likely have that body type and be as tall or maybe taller than females. All of their faces may even be beast like if they go with faces from the other concept where they all had a fur patch. Although the beast like face would look cool I hope I can still make him attractive and not look like he got hit in the face by a frying pan. People can have opinions, let them. There’s no need to go at each others throats because SE will create them how they want too. They may make tweaks to satisfy everyone but I’m prettt sure that concept is what we should be looking for. During ShB we will be learning more about them so we will definitely find out more information on their appearance and maybe at that point we can all try to be on the same level.

Exactly. Otherwise they would just fall again into the: Women have to be sexy and men have to be more beastly cliche. Its already bad enough that they again choose the first beastly race to be male only..while the female counterpart race is full of supermodels (not saying anything against that, I might even change into a viera at launch). So let us have buff Hrothgar females and supermodel Viera males. Then at least they would not just fall into that horrible race cliche again..

Honestly people will probably jump at me but this honestly seems stereotypical and thats manly why I really don’t want another bulky buff guy, I’m hoping they stick with the original concept but they did mention it would resemble elezen so maybe we are safe this time, not hating on the muscle guys but it’s always “beautiful women and buff guys” why can that switch? I don’t really want a super girly male picking flowers but just something not over the top with the masculinity thing. The original concept looked neutral and it could fit most of what we want. With them choosing it won’t make everyone go crazy at each other.

Look at the history of all the male faces in the game. They all fit that typical "pretty jrpg hero" face. That's what the male Viera will fit too. Yes, even Highlander's popular face is the "pretty boy face" and Roe even have a "pretty boy face". They're not going to look like they could be either gender at a first glance and they're not gonna look like they're Dogg the Bounty Hunter. They're just gonna be a typical jrpg hero looking race and that's fine.

I don't see why handsome men are seen as a negative. It's got me pretty confused at this point. If anything having male Viera but making them not classically attractive would be odd - we can give people attracted to women a bunch of nice eye candy but not those of us who like men?

I think that entirely depends on your definition of "handsome".
