I don't know the female Viera concept looks like what we got. I mean they didn't need to make concept art for the female, they knew what the female would look like already and just copied it from FF12. They weren't going to deviate from the FF12 models. It's more likely to follow Matsuno's imagery anyway as the original creator - the respect Yoshida has for him is pretty intense.

We can't forget that the concept art Yoshida also said they were still 'too cute' for him. So expect something manlier than the concept art. Which surprises me because I thought the concept art was pretty manly, I wonder how fierce/masculine he wants them?

I'm they look pretty wildly different from some concept art like the ones with full on rabbit heads and they look pretty different from XII viera who have longer nails and more elongated proportions, it's up in the air really, they'll look like how they'll look. There's evidence for them to be slim just as there is for them to be bulky, I'm pretty sure the cutesy comment was more just a reference to hrothgar/aimed at the smaller child like viera, since he went back to describing them as more elegant and handsome in a more recent interview. Slimmer builds don't necessarily equate to being unmanly after all.

That, plus many people seem to use the term "slim" for anything less bulky than a Roegadyn. Personally, I wouldn't consider male Au Ra to be slim, so much as bulky, but a lot of people call them "slim". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Aye, when they showed the concept art - if I remember correctly Yoshida said he didn't want to show it originally because they had a good thing going with Aura. He commented on the males being 'too cute' for him or something very similar. If someone can post the source that'd be great - just to make sure my memory isn't crapping out.

Times have changed, however, but I won't be surprised to them being a lot more masculine along with the 'elegant' and 'handsome' - so the chest fur and facial hair might be something they would go along with. Male Viera just in a power stance 24/7.

It was during the paris fanfest iirc, The not wanting to show the concept art was during the au ra panel. He mentioned the males looking too "cute" and not "beastly" enough which was a hint at hrothgar

Yeah when I think of Slim I think more so a male miqo'te with smaller shoulders and less muscle culture. Au ra would probably be what I would consider "Bulky" the only thing making them less muscular than Highlanders are the lack of actual muscle tone their actual proportions are pretty beefy. The only problem for me is the wonky standing stance and them birthing hips.

It was this below; he thought they looked too cute there. Hopefully, things have changed maybe - they look fierce enough. And with Hrothgar there's no need to look to beast like.

Yeah that’s true but I meant kinda how miqote are they have a big range of faces but I get they are warriors and fierce so it would make more sense to have all manly looking faces I just hope they don’t go over board
