If you're upset about having to HEAL on HEALER then you're better off not playing the role anyway.

I sincerely doubt that they'll rebalance the entire game to justify having to heal more than we currently do already. People prefer to have something meaningful to do rather then twiddling their thumbs waiting for the next oppurtunity to heal.

*Looks at WHM*
*Looks at our literally unchanged DPS "rotation"*
I mean, if so many of you are rustled over this business, I guess I'll be enjoying my instant queues and won't have to rely on Trusts, then?

That depends at the sort of level you are playing at TBH.
First of, we're going from maintaining two dots with different timers to maintaining a single dot with a much longer duration. That's less busywork to keep us occupied right there.
Secondly, WHM is still going to struggle to play efficiently when you push to optimise GCDs and minimise clipping. These changes do nothing to address that issue and if anything, actually make it slightly worse.
Oh and I forgot, no more cleric stance either. Whoops.

I took a moment to think about why I am so upset about these healer changes even though I don't main a healer and came to a conclusion:
The fact that healer DPS got gutted to hell and back in an MMO where healing checks are very low and predictable is just plain stupid, and it makes me feel like we aren't dealing with very professional devs here.
Our current healer DPS kits aren't exactly complex by any means, but I feel they still give higher end players something to do and optimise in an MMO where healing is what it is, while still keeping the skill floor low enough due to low healing checks that it's comfortable to new/inexperienced healers to get into, DPS can come later.
However, in ShB, these "changes" would be fine if they significantly increased healing needed, but since doing so would make simply keeping people alive more difficult for those new/inexperienced healers, I very much doubt they will increase healing checks to any meaningful degree, which means that while skill floor remains pretty much the same, the skill ceiling has come crashing down, and now a whole lot of healers (myself included) are worried healing is going to be (brain)dead.
And due to all of this, I fear a whole lot of decent healers are going to quit healing, or playing entirely, and we're left with a handful of less than stellar healers, degrading the gaming experience for all classes and roles, which is a depressing thought...
Why is Utility less important? Are Bosses now going do less damage? Are they going do more avoidable damage? Like do not stand in this orange zone or get hit for a massive amount of damage. I understand removing the debuffs to enemies. So you do not feel you need to go take a Dragoon/bard combo. Have a Sam/Ninja to cover a Paladin/DRK combo. Ninja/Mech is only there for vulnerability up debuff. Though the utility some of the healers was very nice. It also feels like they just removed it and slapped it on the dancer. As a way to even make it so we have to bring in a dancer in raids.Objectively AST for the most part is ok. I'm sure players have a few grievances as to the dumbing down but at least the changes line up with some of the goals SE had set forward (to make utility less important)
WHM is in the exact same spot (roughly) when there were a few tweaks that could've made it so much nicer to play and really not affect balance so much.
SCH got slashed to pieces. The pet change will never be reverted so it's something SCH will have to live with but hopefully the gutting of DPS options can be reverted before the expansion or first raiding tier hit.
My core beef is redundancy. AST is now just a damage buffer and healer. DNC... damage buffs, damages, and heals a little.
AST should buff friends. DNC should debuff enemies.
healing won't be any more difficult. It's not difficult now and its not going to suddenly spike x 5000. Nobody is worried about "healing" they're worried about doing other things.
I played wow and healing in wow is abysmal and boring as hell to me you spend half the time standing around. I can't wrap my head around that kind of play style. At the rate FF is going we might as well be standing around to It's kind of silly.. we dont need complexity but this is ridiculous 1 damage skill and 1 dot is abysmal and boring.
Biggest disappointment of the expansion. Every Astro makes different decisions, who to give what buff to, whether to spread and save it for later, royal road for a buff, which buff to use, or use it immediately. Now its just a build and spend for extra damage, so boring.
This eliminates all healers for me now, originally as a white mage main - which i find far too simple. Im a DPS main now it seems, and maybe should learn tanking for the queues.
Here's hoping from a full 180' from Yoshi.P.
