Uhm, NEW ZEALAND is not Australia. It has differences in ping due to that fact. What's with people thinking New Zealand is in Australia? It's getting to be a meme at this stage.

Yes, obviously, but most of us are making the assumptions that it is the same "continent" and since the DCs are based on "continent" then their best ping DC would likely be your best ping DC. Apparently that's not the case, which is a bummer. No one in this thread thought or implied for a minute that NZ and Australia are the same thing, btw.

Honestly what the Devs should have done is left the data centre where it was... hell even the NA players said the same thing....

100% with you on that one my dude. I would have preferred to never have to leave in the first place, despite being "far" the original DC was not that bad for me and the game was certainly playable, after the move it was literally impossible to double weave. And PVP? Forget about it.

Yeah, that would technically be the wrong assumption, because New Zealand is actually on a different continent to Australia, known as "Zealandia".
It's kinda like saying Russia and the States are on the same "continent", just because they are close.

I'm aware, hence why I used quotes when saying "continent". Your Russia/US comparison is a bit too hyperbolic though, that distance is more than double the space between Australia and New Zealand.

Look again, at the distance between Alaska (Part of the States) and Russia. It's actually way smaller than the distance between NZ and Aus. I was actually being a bit conservative there. XD
Distance between Russia and Alaska: 55miles at the Bering Strait.
Distance between New Zealand and Australia: Around 926 miles apparently.

And that's not counting the two islands in the Bering strait, one belonging to Russia and the other to the States, which are just over 2 miles apart.
If you count the closest islands belonging to NZ and Aus, it's 383 miles. Which is still a fair distance.
