I have a better question, why is it you feel a need to bash hrothgar so hard? Almost every post you make is aginst hrothgar and stateing how it wont be popular and how male viera will make SE so damn rich they would be idiots if they dont add them. Male viera will bring in just as much as male hrothgar, its always female characters that bring in the money. Thats why males have a lot less store options than females. Nothing against that, but damn man, stop makeing male viera to be this super secrets god sent to SE. Iv been down for male viera, but holy heck, with the amount of praise you give to it while knocking literally any persons reason or perspective of why hrothgar are fine or why it may be possible that SE might not give a flip, you make me low key want them to say "naw" just to see your reaction

Well no, there’s just 2 picks where the females vastly outnumber the males, lizard and cat girls, and incidentally their male counterparts are also amongst the more popular of the lot. Lets not pretend the figures for the rest are similar or that the males are all played at similar rates.

Because at the end of the day most people don't care about anything else but what they want (it's normal and I'm not bothered by it), some are honest and upfront and others try to use words like a magic spell in hope to achieve the desired goal. Anyway, never trust anyone that insists on use "we" when stating his/her opinion.

According to ffxivcensus, there are 355 353 female characters and 245 775 male characters in "active players" section, so male characters are 40% of population roughly. It's not that bad, I actually think in other MMOs male characters aren't that popular. /thinks

Oh btw, I'm sure that males don't bring anything in. Exactly the reason why sometimes at least 3/5 of the characters you see are catbois yet you have to look under stones to find male roes

At this moment in time, we're unsure if that's the actual fact with Hrothgar - it's best to wait until we're 100% sure that this isn't just a limitation of the benchmark. Sadly, however - the cynic in me thinks that they have been shafted in the hair department due to their other customisations. They had to sacrifice something for it. All of the hairs that are available are all 'mane like' So I suppose, that's why? Note; the short hairstyles are linked into young male lions/cubs. So, it seems to be linked to the 'lion mane'.

Yeah, it’s better than many other Asian MMOs. It’s worth noting WoW has the inverse demographic trend, ie more male toons.

Nonetheless, in XIV’s case it’s entirely down to two female race combos specifically - for the others there’s roughly parity or it reverses. What is important is whether a race/gender combo brings in enough revenue to cover its costs. But at a combined 40% it’s more than adequate, and like I said, there’s discrepancies in the male figures anyway, ie their popularity varies.

everything is so different in benchmark compared to main CC
all the races defaults are different,faces are shown in a row instead of 2 by 2
it is a bit hard to believe hroth has more coming when they reach main game kinda ruins the point of "getting your character ready before expansion is out" when you might have to spend extra 10-30 minutes in main CC for new stuff

edit: i was also bummed that the dancers hair style in there render was not in the benchmark means 5+ weeks of worrying if that hair is female exclusive

I also have my doubts that male hrotgar will be any different. I think that the problem is SE trying to do a race that they weren't comfortable with at all, since hey have never ever done a beast race and I think they underestimated how hard it truly is

Wishful thinking, but maybe since Hrothgar are uncharted territory to them, maybe they'll be more willing to go back and work on them as time goes by?

I hope so. I personally couldn't care less about male hrotgar in terms of playing them myself, since I would most likely only play a female and as an alt, but I wish they look exactly like how the ppl who want them like
