Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

Quite a lot of inappropriate art and comments were posted within this thread and were promptly nuked by the mods. A number of posters then began claiming that the only people bringing up child-like viera were those looking to start drama. There's an element of plausible deniability at play. Now that the evidence is no longer there, there appears to be an attempt to rewrite the thread's history.

Yes, most of the worst stuff showed up on Twitter. Yet it was linked here with frequency directly by certain posters during the early days. Amidst various meltdowns and horrific accusations of discrimination aimed at the development team due to misguided and troublesome attempts to falsely attribute the missing genders to malice rather than an attempt at a compromise.

Yoshi-P had to make an explicit statement to point out that male viera would not be designed to be child-like as a result of this thread and others.

Add to that the frequent arguments breaking out throughout the thread itself and I'm not at all surprised if it really is being linked and ridiculed elsewhere.

I don't particularly care for people coming into the thread solely to stir the pot but at the same time...let's not pretend it is not happening for a reason.

No that was because of the rampant shota veira art on twitter, not this thread lmao. I aint seen anyone here saying they wanted child like veria. There was a thread about how people were sad we wouldnt get "lolis" but that was not a veira thread. Stop blaming us for stuff we didnt do.

The pedo problem is a playerbase wide problem, and you know it. People have been asking for child like races for years, pajali, loli, anything. People are creepy to my lalafel when I made no such advance toward them and my lalafel is fully clothed. It is hardly only a veira problem, and people should be allowed to support it without people saying that to them when they haven't done it themselves.

I'm not going to make a male veira. The thing I was mad about is the stupid lore reason which was bs in the first place. I hate genderlock in general, in any mmo. My plan is that if they add it Im going to make a female hrothgar because I like BIG BEEFY LADIES. Im willing to wait and just show support, maybe itll never happen and you know what? Ill live. I wasn't stating that it is limited to this thread. I'm just stating that between people explicitly asking for such things here and Yoshi-P making a statement on the matter there is now an air of negativity surrounding the addition of male viera.

I think the gender lock is silly and I hope that the missing genders are added someday. I've consistently said as much throughout the thread.

I don't disagree with the theory that some people are coming into the thread to deliberately stir the pot. Yet at the same time, I think it's worth looking at this thread from the perspective of an outside observer and pondering why such is happening.

This is the double standards I'm talking about. Why is it a female character is allowed to be all of these things but men can't? If you have no problem with one and you do with the other how are you not a hypocrite? Not every man is a huge beefy dude! Some of us MEN are 5'6" and a 120 pounds with a young face at 22, we are still men and if we want a character that represents us that is okay. You added a stigma to that body not us!

Ultimately I never wanted that body type. I want something to match the females but the thinly veiled hypocrisy is so clear! The fact that people USED children to discredit other people opinion is repugnant.

When did I say I have no problem with females being like that? Nothing of the description I mentioned points out a specific gender so don't put words in my mouth. People DID use Alphinaud and Alisaie as reference, they explicitly said so, so it's not used to discredit someone's opinion they literally wanted to play a child-like character. That's why the whole debate started and probably most of it has been deleted to bury the topic since Yoshi P himself had to stand up and say No.

Point is, short + slim + youthful + androgynous = looks like a minor = definitely a no no from SE. Lalas can [debatably] pass because they don't look like kids, they're some chibi looking dwarf race.

Also I love how more than once it seems that because I play a Roe I have no right to speak in this matter. Fun fact - I'm 5'3 irl, but I digress.

Options already exist for those who want to create a short and young looking male character already.

Dude you could say the same thing about tall male characters! The real point is viera males will never look like a kid so people need to stop pulling out that card to shame male viera supporters. People aren't attacking people that want female Ronzo on that thread like they do us and its because people have a grudge against men appearing weak or sexy because men have to be huge I guess. These people also say "cat bois need to be deleted" or that we only want male viera for ERP but EVERYONE can see the most popular ERP characters are FEMALE Au Ra and Miqote. Its all excuses to devalue us and we are letting them by fighting each other instead of sticking together.
