Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

I agree that there is a demand for them (I myself wanted a beastial female for a long time) but I am still curious on the numbers, especially now when they will probably only have like two hairstyles for each face. At least here and on reddit some already posted that they wanted to turn into Hrothgar but that the restrictions will turn them away again. So its really sad that stretching themselves thin on two half races and the other stuff might even decrease the number of players for that race. :/

Anyway I really hope that we will get the missing genders and I also hope that this does not take until 7.0..

I think that the male hrotgar would be rather unpopular, and will be arround male elezen once the initial storm of the new races goes down, mostly for their customization which is extremely limited, but they will look cool and it will be nice seeing one of them in your parties

Also, I don't really think it will take until 7.0, considering that not only has Matsuno been talking about male viera on his twitter and literally saying 'where's the male viera' on a drawing, but dataminers have found that in the code there's intentional space left for the missing genders, that combined with many other things, [/B]makes me think that they very well could[B] either have plans or maybe even have started working on them which would most likely significate a 6.0 release, but there is always a chance that we might not get them at 6.0 and sadly, we don't even have a confirmation that we will

What you have stated is clearly the reason why SE should have only gone with 1 race

Should? They wanted to add in Viera for those fans who have been screaming for them and a beast race for fans who have been screaming for that. If the Viera add one thing to this game it's a 3rd chance to make a tall female given how under played the 2 tall females are and how vocal people have been in asking for Viera, a race of tall females. They missed that chance in favor of making a smoll, dainty, shy female with the Scaley race. That's at least something.

Like, what is with this obsession to convince people SE made a mistake picking both? It's over ... they did it. They knew the blow back they would get, they thought about it long and hard and decided this was best. They sacrificed Female Hrothgar to appease the fans because this seems like the last chance to add races (and they would be giving the Viera fans the middle finger for the 2nd and final time if they didn't) but it is what it is.

Lol, Elezen don't count cause you say so? As Yoshi stated "what's the point of adding another tall handsome character if the only difference is their ears". You read that how ever you want, I don't have to defend him. Just pointing out something he said.

As a max slider Femroe for years I can say that ... Femroe are just giant goofy af girls. Just like Roebros are giant goofy dudes, neither one comes across as bad ass warriors.

In terms of archetypes the best example of what I feel like we got (viera) vs what I feel like we would have gotten (Female Hrothgar) is Kill La Kill's Satsuki vs Ryuko. Stoic, Class Representative girl trope vs Delinquent, violent girl trope. Both are things not currently found in the roster but one's far more interesting and expressive than the other and it's a shame things turned out this way. But it is what it is.

The restriction is so severe/ strang and the set up is so odd that I can't help but think there's more to this then we know. Much like how Viera may get more on release I feel the same for Hrothgar.
We'll see in a few weeks though so it really doesn't matter rn to me.

Ok so first, ofc they already did it but we have all the right on this world to discuss whatever we want. Then, the viera are not a race of tall females they are a race of tall people with bunny ears. Then, SE gave a middle finger to many hrotgar fans and viera fans at the same time, those being not only those who want to play as the missing genders, btu also those who want to play as male hrotgar considering that they have extremely limited customization most likely caused by them not sticking to one race at a time.

Then, if male elezen count, then we have: female higlander, female roegadyn and female elezen. Also interesting how he said that 'what's the point on another handsome race' but had absolutely no issue in making beatiful females. Rather unfortunate to say the least.

Then, where in the world is femroe considered giant? Femroes are simply woman with lots of mussle.

which would have about the same mussle mass as the male roegadyn, something they can do with female hrotgar.
In all honesty, all the points Yoshida gave to the inclusion of this races made absolutely no sense in my eyes.
We don't want to make a beautiful race yet we make female supermodels with a face that was designed by a makeup artist and we give males no hairstyles and a reogadyn body while we give them some fur textures and leave them extremely unfinished for release. Makes lots of sense

Or it could just mean that the CC menu is coded in such a strict way that it doesn't allow them to just smack the gender symbol in the middle without breaking anything, not that they left it there intentionally. Same argument was made with the bug in the french version of the game (adressing Hroth and Viera as both genders) and that didn't pan out at all.

Ofc its clinging to every tiny detail since its everything that we have. And like I said, I'm talkign that dataminers have found that the devs have intentionally made the code so that they could later add this things

I have a better question, why is it you feel a need to bash hrothgar so hard? Almost every post you make is aginst hrothgar and stateing how it wont be popular and how male viera will make SE so damn rich they would be idiots if they dont add them. Male viera will bring in just as much as male hrothgar, its always female characters that bring in the money. Thats why males have a lot less store options than females. Nothing against that, but damn man, stop makeing male viera to be this super secrets god sent to SE. Iv been down for male viera, but holy heck, with the amount of praise you give to it while knocking literally any persons reason or perspective of why hrothgar are fine or why it may be possible that SE might not give a flip, you make me low key want them to say "naw" just to see your reaction

From SE’s perspective, offering players more options to express themselves only matters conditionally - i.e. to the extent that they consider it has the prospect to improve profit. There is no feature that ‘deserves’ to be added without that factor in mind. They’ve conceded they’re taking a risk with Hrothgar, but let’s not forget that the goal is still to realise higher profits. If the risk pays off sufficiently, either for both of the new races or at least one of them, we may see the missing genders added in both cases (because it’d vex many players to just add one and not the other), but dessert has little to do with it.

Well now that sexism and all that nonsense isn't being thrown around anymore i want to say some more on this topic. First all of you saying they should of done both, stop it. They couldn't of done both. They have said multiple time they didn't have the budget for both. You can make the argument they should of done one or the other but they also have stated that the community has wanted both so they wanted to cater to both sides. They also said they didn't want the male Viera to look like miqo with bunny ears. Since they only have concept art for males and not actual 3d models it would of taken them much longer to make, so instead the went with 2 races one of each gender. For all the people who say they are unsubbing as well, thats not gonna help get your precious bunny boys any faster because making them will take away resources from the rest of the game and that will be worse in the long run. What will help is staying subbed, showing square your love of the game, and showing that 14 needs more budget for the completion of the races.
