It's official, SCH/WHM have two DPS spells from level 6-80

Whoever made this decision. . . This was a really bad one.

SCH have effectively a dot and a filler spell for 74 levels (with 1 standard AOE and a conditional AOE).

WHM is basically the same with Dia and Glare.

As it stands right now, leveling as a healer is going to be extremely boring and extremely slow.

If this was attempted for any other job. It wouldn't be acceptable at all.

Imagine if Tanks had only 2 buttons for Emnity, an AoE move, and Defensive CD's. That's what this would be akin to.

This is our DoT "Upgrade":

That's two expansions in a row they opted not to give us a new healer in order to "focus on balancing the existing healer jobs." This is the result of all that waiting, this is the best they could come up with.

I understand the complaint, but DPSing as a healer is a bonus for making sure everyone is okay. Healers have so much support especially between SCH and AST that even if they aren't casting their DPS skills their support skills more than make up for it.

Sorry but that would only be true if you know, content was actually hard, but it's not. If you enjoy spending 50% of a fight standing around doing nothing waiting for someone to take damage so that you can heal them then all the power to you.

Hence being okay means not dead. No one is asking you to keep everyone kept at full the entire time, that would be a waste of MP. It's more so to bounce back when when your tank is eating a TB or everyone would die to a raidwide.

Otherwise it's doing as much DPS as you can between your own offensive actions/support.

Then get rid of every other job having a self heal so I can do the role I'm assigned.

The Devs can't have it both ways. If they want healers to heal, make them heal. Stop giving other jobs tools for healers to have downtime with.

Except the whole reason we keep having this seemingly endless debate is because content doesn't hit hard enough to warrant focusing on healing. If the damage scaling remains relatively where it's at with Stormblood, then if you aren't DPSing 70-90% of the time, you're literally doing nothing.
