Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

I agree with you on the female Viera but the way Hrothgar setup is terrible I think Meoni did a video with the same concerns and showcases just how bad it is with heads types locking hair, tattoos and facial features

Yeah, I was disappointed in hrothgar character creation. I've always been open to having a playable beast race, but because of the hair being locked to the face, I'm kind of put off by it. Will hrothgar be getting new hairstyles at the same frequency other races get? What about cash shop hair? How will the aesthetician work? I'll wait until launch to make judgments but if hrothgar hair is going to be restricted in this way, then I can't help but think it would have just been better to go with male viera.

I higly doubt the asthethician will work any differently. my bet is that they'll be able to change fur

Given how half baked customization is for the Hrothgar it might be better that they aren't adding male / female races for both as it would probably be even more of a mess than it already is. Give em time to fix the mess as the more you look into it the more it seems this expansion is being rushed out the door.

I agree that there’s a lot about this expansion that feels awfully rushed. Not so much the new zones etc, but some of the job abilities, the design of Hrothgar, the precursor patch etc, all feel rushed. SE is going to have to consider increasing their budget and manpower a bit if 5.0 does well. Whilst adding 2 races at once is likely a major culprit, BLU probably did not help much either. If you’re expecting the team to juggle that much work, it ought to be considered if the resources available are realistic.

I really think the dev team made a mistake here, because now they also most likely are going to have to make 2 more models since they created extremely high demand for 2 things that otherwise would have not existed (the demand would have not existed), when if they had only done 1 race, then they could have decided if they wanted to make the other one without so much pressure for the community. I hope SE can learn from this for next expansions

I would love to have male viera as a playable race. I would not be sad if we don't, but if, it would certainly be a cool thing. My husband was kind of looking forward to it but eh...happens We would love a rather tall approach. For me it would be important to at least have the possibility to make them taller than a viera female (so...not miqote range for me). Ideally the max height for me would be a little above the female max. But i don't care about min. height though...a range like the one for female roe would be nice for the people who would like them a bit smaller. As for body type..i would be fine with the omega-m body type. (which does not include its little but tooo large head xD The proportions should fit! )
But that is just my opinion If they turne out completly different that is fine too. It just may be not my piece of cake.



edit: Aah but there is one thing i need to say. Personally i think some of the more child like fanart is a bit...inappropriate. I thought the same when i saw the fanart matsuno liked. This is my personal opinion but i thought of the outfit to be generally a bit too fetishized. I don't care for the adult male- An adult character can wear almost whatever he wants. I mean the women are quite revealing as well. But on a child like figure...a no go for me.

Demand, there was.
They are grabbing players from other games that required a race like Hroth, as well player base that desired that too.
I think it's just as Lauront said, they just should have increased the budget and Manpower to do a full service at both demands.

What it seems is that the team is overworked to follow their own deadlines to deliver the product.
And as client, it makes me wary of future if this becomes a trend.

Do you think they'd prioritise their own brood or go for whatever? What about family units? Do you think Viera actually know who their fathers are - is there any sort of attachment? Paternity would probably be difficult to ascertain in Viera communities. We're also not quite sure if children are raised by their mother or communally, or if the male impregnates one female or several every time he visits the village. I'd guess the visiting male would just pick whichever teenager just got "discovered" no matter who they "belong" to. I like to think the kids are raised by a group of females until they're old enough to be told apart, but that's really nothing but headcanon.

It does give me THE funniest image of a smol teen Viera being held up by his mother (by the ears or back of the shirt or whatever is more comical and less abusing) just going "But I don't wanna!" when it's time to take him away for training lol
