Hopefully they asked the right question during the Media Tour Event. Phoenix does look like a reskin of Bahamut.
I'm more curious about Egi's right now and how the three well work, especially Titan since he is no longer a tank pet.

What do you mean by this?
You mean, Phoenix has a big move we make it do and a small move it does everytime was cast something?
Interestingly enough, that was my first impression. Then I watch it again and noticed that smn was doing moves with phoenix but those moves didn't show out of summoner.
Summoner casted ruin and akh morn under phoenix.
Did you see a ruin bolt coming out of the smn? I didn't.
Did you see an akh morn pillar from smn? I didn't.
This leads me to conclude that Phoenix when out replaces those moves. The smn no longer does them and instead phoenix does a more potent version.
Maybe this is wishful thinking and effects were turned off.
Some effects were shown and others were not.
hmm
Maybe Titan has a party-buff damage mitigation ability? That'd be pretty cool.
Do we know if Aetherpact/Devotion is still in?
Hitting harder is not the same as changing up the rotation in a meaningful manner. Bahamut casts Akh Morn too. You still have to press Enkindle Bahamut to make him do so. You also don't see any Ruin spells (though I suspect that triangular cast we see once is Ruin V), so we don't see Phoenix attack at all. I'm more worried about 1-button Ruin spam than ever based on this trailer. The trailer doesn't show much of the filler at all. The only indicator we've got to go on is we have one less Aetherflow to spend now, which is exactly what I didn't want to see happen. Here's hoping that we're alternating between Bahamut and Phoenix at the very least, and the Egi remain as is past the general pet changes SE mentioned, pending a proper Egi rework.

Mechanics are Aesthetics. Graphics don't make interesting gameplay.
They said pet action will now become player action, so i hope there will be no longer a delay when we using contagion anymore
So after Phoenix was summoned, the Summoner cast some kinda of DoT; note the sound and then Phoenix cast an attack, the Summoner did some kind of DeathFlare animation and Phoenix attack with a ring of fire, then the Summoner commanded Demi-Enkindle which was the fire pillar. Honestly it's too hard to make out until we see the player actions. What do you mean by this?

Maybe, hopefully lol. I do know that pet action before 5.0 shared the same action button for example it you casted Aerial Slash then Ifrit's Radiant Shield would be on cool down. Now it looks like they divided into PC actions; Egi Assault I. The concern I have I guess is that if Contagion and Radiant Shield will have the same cooldown will lead to SMN buffing their DPS over the parties?
P.S. The letter did so Titan action "Earthen Armor" which doesn't exist in the game as of now.
It would make sense to have the switching between the two encourage you to use both.
People did that anyways in sb, but it was convoluted to do and people who didn't read guides probably had no idea you could pull it off.
When they exclaimed the cast was instant and we can switch easily, first thing that came to my mind was how much easier it will be to use both contagion and radiant shield now.
it has to be a third demi summon, two is an odd when we have 3 egi's, especially since titan egi has been rework due to it cant take damage nor be targeted by enemies.
im hoping we have 3 demi summons to cycle thru not just 2.
I actually think the summoner is the source of that one, the animation that phoenix uses is the same reactionary attack it uses prior - The second larger one though is the Ankh Morn equivalent i think. - In the benchmark there is a Phoenix Trance animation - so i think that what we are seeing here are some of the animations tied to that, but shown at the same time as Phoenix to obscure their function. my thought is that maybe we go DWT>Demi bahamut > Phoenix > PHT or at least something like that - I originally thought that Phoenix came from ifrit and Bahamut from Garuda however the job icon seems to change straight away after Demi Bahamut goes away - Either way it certainly seems some Egi /Demi Rotation is going on.So after Phoenix was summoned, the Summoner cast some kinda of DoT; note the sound and then Phoenix cast an attack, the Summoner did some kind of DeathFlare animation and Phoenix attack with a ring of fire, then the Summoner commanded Demi-Enkindle which was the fire pillar.
