If anything, I'd ask for death penalty back, with being able to level into 50. That way you can get a buffer on 50, do other stuff, die a lot, then go back and get your buffer back for 50. Partying is 90% of the game.

Not far off? A lot of games dont have them, she said "Equipment repairs are in every mmo ever", with extra empathises on the "every", i think it is pretty far off when it is incorrect. She's not that far off actually -- A lot of MMOs have repair systems, a lot have durability systems without repair and a lot more have 'weight' systems.
They all fall into micromanagement, even offline RPGs like skyrim has a ton of micromanagement, which can't be a bad thing considering it's (somehow) game of the year.
Alot have it, a lot dont.
I'd rather having the original repair system. I liked it way more than it is now...it does needed some tweaks, but was way more immersive than it is now...and i bet it would have another purpose other than just gil sink.
The new repair animation is stupid, dark matter is too generic, it has no gameplay impact anymore...to leave the way it is now would be better just removing repair.
Ragnarok have weight system and repair system, too
But you need repair in Ragnarok only after WoE if a Whitesmith attacked you with Melt Down (broken gear has a red name and you can only re-equip it after you repaired it for 5k zenny).
Weight system is to limiting your inventory like an inventory with limited slots in most MMO. In Ragnarok the inventory has not a slot limit (only your Kafra storage), but after 50% overweight passive Hp/Sp recovery is turned off and after 90% overweight you can't use skills.
I rather lose exp then have to do repairs. So much EXP goes to waste ; ; Also I dislike how item has to be 100% to trade it. I can't just lend gear to someone in the middle of doing something unless someone can repair it -_- Then when repairing we lose all the gear we have on equipped..lol orz
Sigh, the reason Yoshi-P had for continuing the game with the repair system is that there has to be a penalty for death. It's really either gear degradation or loss of exp, and we all know how frustrating the latter was in FFXI.
I'm pro repair, it makes more sense to have to maintain one's gear to some degree.
be better if death just took exp from progress of the current level. That way no deleveling and a nice bonus once you reach cap. It's not like cap will stay at 50 forever.
No.
No.
No.
If you guys want to XP and get something out of it, go make some materia. We don't need to hamstring people's advancement or raid wipe count by forcing XP buffers anymore.
