This is exactly what I meant, I just didn't word it as well you did, partly because I had just woken up, and partly because I r dumb.
That would be neat, being able to use the echo on other players (and ourselves) to rewatch the things they've or we've done in the past.
Especially if we could see our character standing off to the side watching themselves go through a cutscene. And then, if someone echoed us while we were echoing ourselves...
Please keep on going, I'm listening.
Anyway, I'm highly supporting Delsus' idea, and hope for the Dev team to work on it in a distant future =)
I hope 2.0 makes at the very least subtle throwbacks or references only the people who hung in there will notice. Would be kind of cool to hear an NPC say, you new adventurers have it easy, I remember grinding coerthas raptors for 12 hours to get a GODDAMNED PHYSICAL LEVEL!
WotG was and is a complete failure. I do not see SE repeating that mistake. Some may disagree other may agree. Some if not all of the current player base remembers WOTG for FFXi. Now in that expansion you can go back to the past before the present time.
Now lets look at FFXIV 2.0 and lets look at the current FFXIV. Here is a rare opportunity that Square Enix has on there hands. Once FFXIV 2.0 is released, in stead of SE abandoning the current story they could add it in as the pre-story. Basicly those of us who have done it wouldnt have to worry about doing it again, but new players would get to experience FFXIV 2.0 in the present world and past world before meteor strikes. Now se could upgrade this pre-story to have all the current improvements that 2.0 will have.
I think you're looking at playing pre-2.0 the wrong way.
See, we should look at it as a dark time in our lives. Y'know, like slavery, concentration camps, those kinds of things. When 2.0 comes, we should tell people our horror stories about what we went through pre-2.0.
People will shudder and cry when they hear "Pre-v2.0", as they should.
WOTG was a camplete failure due to SE not really supporting it. There is things that could have been done to expand the world there. There was so much that could have been expanded on but thats SE for you.
Lol, a failure...? How was WoTG a failure? Or were you one of those players who didn't know how to play the game nor had any friends in order to complete the storyline, or do any of the side events? Or one of the players who didn't actually play during WoTG or considered going into the past and alternate dimension a cop out?
Using your logic, CoP and ToAU were failures as well.
The only issue was SE was working on FFXIV during WoTG's lifespan, which slowed down story implementation.
I totally can't tell if you're joking or not, but it sounds like a good idea for some reason o.O Like, if meteor struck us down and killed everyone..then some unknown force brought us back, and we had to rebuild the new world or something (which would be the new eorzea of 2.0), and then our goal would be to take revenge on our killer..?
It's a rough idea, but SE could turn it into something epic!!
I like it. In the last hours leading up to the cataclysm, the Primals call forth all manner of beast which flood the land and invade the cities. Wave after wave of defenders fail, pushing everyone back to the main aetheryte crystal in the game. The Garleans watch in dismay from the sky as the land is overrun and call forth Meteor to cleanse Eorzea of this blight.
Our deaths, and subsequent resurrection by the Twelve, throws us into v2.0, and the Seventh Umbral Era. And no one remembers what happened except those with the power of the echo and, of course, the Garlean Empire.
Lol sounds like the matrix with the machines destroying xion then the one must choose some people from the matrix to rebuild xion so the war can continue and it gets stuck in a cycle for war, find the one, destroy xion, rebuild, war, destroy etc etc.I totally can't tell if you're joking or not, but it sounds like a good idea for some reason o.O Like, if meteor struck us down and killed everyone..then some unknown force brought us back, and we had to rebuild the new world or something (which would be the new eorzea of 2.0), and then our goal would be to take revenge on our killer..?
