So sexual harassment is considered petty, got it
You can't apply "real world" logic to every scenario. A major part of competitive modes has always been Psychological Warfare.
As others have already pointed out, disrespecting your opponent is often utilized as a tool in these modes. An agitated opponent is more likely to make further mistakes that can be exploited for more kills that will contribute to a win.
I mean, look at it from this perspective, that's 25 seconds in which they weren't doing anything that actually contributed to earning points for their team. That time investment only pays off if it throws you off your game and causes you to make further mistakes. If you laugh it off, recompose and focus on contributing to your team's win then their gesture has no meaning whatsoever.
After, I re-spawned, didn't really recompose, but did get back with my party, and did take him down or at least I think it's him, cause he was also a DRK. There's other taunt, and other method of getting people irritated, but he choose squat/teabagging. Why are those emotes even allow in PvP? When does someone uses squat to tell their party to squat? Sit or kneel? Those aren't needed. So, what purpose does squat have? People requested squat, so that they can be use for RP, yet it's being misused in PvP.You can't apply "real world" logic to every scenario. An emote is being used to effectively irritate you and throw you off your game bottomline. If it wasn't squat it would be something else. Sit, slap, pet, hug, sulk (which often has a short punting animation at the start), whatever. After, I re-spawned, didn't really recompose, but did get back with my party, and did take him down or at least I think it's him, cause he was also a DRK. Taken to it's logical conclusion in order to "solve" this issue they'd have to remove all emotes.
So what then? Well, ppl would literally spam jump on your dead body for 25 seconds.
So the only thing that can really protect everyone from unpleasant experiences in PvP would be to remove the mode entirely.
(Or you know, getting better at the mode and not allowing yourself to get killed as much butwhohastimeforthatamirite?)
What's considered to be good at PvP? Not dying at all? If that was the case, why PvP since no one will die. If number of death counts as you being bad then I have 0 death on occasion. In any case Thank you for trying to reason and the constructive conversation. Though, I will take the suggestion from the very first post about reporting, and will do so. Call me petty, or whatever...
Oh, and have a good night
Petty
Glad to be of service
Well that depends on what mode your in. All 3 FL modes have a mechanic baked into them for earning a majority of the points that contribute to victory. Kills are a secondary factor. You can actually win without killing anybody in all three FL modes, but kills can still contribute to an overall victory faster since each kill does add points to your team and SUBTRACT points from the team of the player that was killed.
Being good at FL requires personal knowledge of the class you are playing as, effective teamwork, and situational awareness. That last one is a big one encompassing things like... don't chase, don't run off on your own, don't approach a ice/nodes by yourself if 3 or more opponents are already hitting it... I've seen so many tanks get killed at ice after running in solo. Final report comes in with them contributing like 3 points from the ice... which is completely negated by the negative points they lost their team from their death.
Some deaths are bound to happen, but each one should make you reevaluate the situation. Does your party not have a healer, or is the healer you do have subpar? Then maybe you shouldn't be taking point and instead be hanging back with the DPS and using draw-in to pull opponents into the pack to be slaughtered.
Even in the scenario you have presented in the OP, how did you get yourself in a situation where an opponent could SAFELY spam an emote on you for 25 seconds without any fear of retaliation? That means you were either alone in the first place, or your team got overwhelmed somehow. So learn to evaluate match-ups from a distance. Is the incoming enemy squad larger than yours, or do they have a healer with them when you don't? Perhaps a strategic retreat is in order...
That isn't always going to be the case, for "king of the hill" type nodes as it might be better to stand your ground and take a death if it means you get to hold the node longer. If you can stretch the engagement out to where your team earns more points from the node even after factoring out the subtracted points from your death, well that's still a net gain for your team then. Also part of situational awareness... and again, if the final result is that your team won then in actuality that was 25 seconds WASTED by the player spamming the emote when they could have been doing something else to help contribute to their teams victory.
