yeah, let's make getting item drops feel like a punishment
just like WoW
Imagine the uproar from the raiding community trying to be world first and couldn't because of horrible stats. In addition, you mentioned crafted items rolling random stats... Imaging how that will go down, you go through all the effort to get your crafting class up to max level, getting the gear to actually craft the good items and then go through the effort of grinding out all the materials and then go to make some stuff to sell... And you get shit rolls and have spent a lot of time and resources to make garbage no-one wants to buy because RNG gave it bad stats.
We don't want another black desert online, where the RNG is so bad even their ban waves were RNG LOL.
you must be a bad gamer if thats how you feel.
nothimg feels better than getting a 1 of a kind meaningful item sure you go through torture but thats what makes it fun when evently your work pays off.
even relics in ff do not feel meaningful what so ever and you go through small pain 2 get but they gave no meaning outside of prettyness
Are you really calling people "bad gamers" just because they don't want more pointless timesink grinds to get optimal gear? If you want to go around calling people bad for not liking random gear, I could just as easily say that wanting randomly amazing gear to drop is a crutch by bad players who have an excess of time on their hands and need overtuned gear to help them out.you must be a bad gamer if thats how you feel.

Liking RNG or not isn't a question of skill, it's a question of how much free time you have to play the game and roll that RNG more often, if you have more time to blow you'll probably like it more because you'll get more benefit from it. Most people would probably prefer to not be forced onto the treadmill longer for something like this though.

We seem to have different philosophies in regards to gaming then... To me, nothing feels better than actually achieving something - beating a difficult fight for example - or getting to experience an awesome story.you must be a bad gamer if thats how you feel.

Getting a unique item when it drops straight away has the amazing feeling of "Whaaaaat?! What did I just get?!", I agree with that.
But getting this item after farming and grinding for hours or days or weeks only feels "amazing" because "thank god, its finally over and I never have to do this again... except for the three other jobs I really like to play..."
Oh and dont go around calling people "bad" because they enjoy other aspects of a game than you do. Personally I dont enjoy praying to RNgsus for drops.
I love the Ex-primal fights, figuring mechanis out is always great fun! ...but mount-farming afterwards is already a bit daunting, at least after run 20... now multiple that with more RNG...
I'd rather not WoW has Mythic+ where you can get loot that's great however they have Titanforging where pieces of gear can roll 5-20 ilvls higher so I don't want my BiS to be a hodgepodge of Titanforged gear on a tank where I take say an ilvl 420 piece that has bad stats like SKS/TEN on a tank vs an ilvl 400 piece that has CRIT/DET, you'll take the higher ilvl piece because it's 20 ilvls higher.
I'm not opposed to Mythic+ in XIV but they'd have to seriously think about the rewards because while Mythic+ is fun in WoW it's built around that kinda content but XIV isn't I hate seeing that I busted my ass off and someone got a better piece of gear because RNG.
How?increasing effort and creating item rarity is better lol gear in game is either spam dunguon for pieces that are always the same or raid stuff again always the same and eurka relics are also always the same and ps that isnt effort well it wasnt when you had Nm trains lol
How is it better?
All you're doing is making it "Spam dungeon for pieces that are always the same or raid stuff again always the same and Eureka relics are always the same" but it takes longer, because people now have to wade through all the trash drops before the 1 item they care about will drop.
Making RNG stats on items won't suddenly make crap stats useful. It won't stop everyone just going for the same stats on their gear as everyone else.
It just makes the entire process of gearing up frustrating and annoying.
Like, as a WAR, I'm never going to want DH. So if any gear that drops has DH on it, well, off to the vendor it goes, because literally the couple of hundred gil it sells for is worth more than getting that stat. Same for any item that doesn't have Crit on.
Basically, any item that isn't capped STR, CRIT and DET may as well not exist for my WAR, because I won't use it, because I want only those 3 stats, with a little extra SkS just to hit the breakpoint to get 5x Fell Cleaves in during Inner Release.
The same goes for literally every class in the game, they have stat priorities and will ignore any gear that doesn't fit into them.
