I'd be happy with ungender locking the different stances
just make them a different /cpose or a toggle in the character options

like let female dragoons do the kain pose and male dark knights hold their sword in the ground etc

Those are Poses and not the battle stances where you are actively swinging your weapon around that I'm referring to. I do agree with you tho.

What the hell are you talking about? The stances aren't "gendered." aside from the Roes and probably Lala's all of the races hold the weapons similarly. in XI every race and gender held every weapon differently, but asking the devs to do something this massive...

kinda weird that they could do it years ago but then again we have more race/gender combos

They were referring to the standing still poses.

The Dragoon alternate pose is different for male and female. Don't know if anything else is.

All classes have a gender specific /cpose in battle stance.
It’s anothing thing I’m expressly okay with. I’ll never be Cloud but I get my own cool pose too.

May I ask what you mean? As far as I can tell the gendered animations are the same as the other races.

Lala Sch/SMN have their second hand over the book and are pointing at it.
All other races have the left arm just hanging down.
