Don't get me wrong, I share your pessimism over the situation, if for different reasons. But to stand there screeching about a whopping great nerf hammer for WHMs is just plain wrong. The job hasn't truly been nerfed hard since the early days of ARR. Rather it just always seems to end up stuck an expansion's worth of abilities behind AST and SCH once all is said and done.

Exactly, SCHs state in Stormblood, esp. in Dungeons, was rather poor (and unenjoyable). The changes to mana costs and Indom were probably due to dungeon performance. Excog, Union and quickened Aetherflow were 100% useless prior to their buff, the buff had to happen to give these mechanics any value.

When SCH is the sole healer (as in dungeons), SCH has the lowest HPS potential of all three healers, even if all Aetherflow are used on healing abilities. (yes, that includes fairy)
SCH also has the highest MP consumption, while not having a higher Mana Regeneration (Aetherflow into Energy Drain further increases the hps gap).

The 4.X SCH buffs happened for valid reasons, and these reasons will probably be valid in 5.0. Raid Performance isn't the only metric healers have to be balanced around, dungeon performance (of the average player) also matters, and probably more then (savage) raid performance.

This is really the core of it. A SCH that is actually balanced for raids would be (or rather, *was*) complete garbage in dungeons, struggling to do their most basic job. Instead of outright nerfing and buffing jobs, they need to focus on shrinking the "fun" gap. The biggest disparity between white mage and the other two healers isn't numbers, it's that the other two healers get to do fun things while white mage just sits there mashing out the same basic spells with zero engagement, because why would you be engaged when you have nothing beyond directly making some numbers go up and other numbers go down.

They need to dumpster the idea of a pure healer, or WHM will always be awful to play because it's BORING.

The biggest disparity between white mage and the other two healers isn't numbers, it's that the other two healers get to do fun things while white mage just sits there mashing out the same basic spells with zero engagement, because why would you be engaged when you have nothing beyond directly making some numbers go up and other numbers go down.

They need to dumpster the idea of a pure healer, or WHM will always be awful to play because it's BORING.

Personal taste, but I would rather play a job with less buttons and do a good job of it - especially when there are fight mechanics to deal with.

They didn't nerfed WHM, but buffed AST to the stars.

The history tells us that they refined AST along all 4.x path while WHM has been forgotten. So forgotten that Scions will have no WHM, just an AST (Urianger) and a SCH (Krile will change to SCH, mark my words). Y'shtola will be a BLM.

Can I just point out, if you look at the Healer forum, 11 of the latest 20 threads (four more on the second page, too) were made by the same OP. All within a month.

Celesta, honey, we know you love WHM and wanna see it succeed but you gotta find your chill. At least consolidate your ideas in one place rather than making a new thread for each one. It's hard to take you seriously with all this spam.
