Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

I doubt it. They'll do both or none but you're dreaming if you think they'll add just one and keep the genders balanced. i think realistically if they add them it'll be for 6.0.

I did say that they will do both. Just release one 1 maybe 2 patches sooner than the other, and coming from SE who released 2 half baked races because they prefered that than doing one full race that would have gotten very few complains compared to now, it is a possibility

I just realized something. This is actually the exact same thug that happened in 1.0. Ppl are mad at a lot of things (no healer, lots of ppl don't seem to like the shard things, whm said to be easier etc) and 2 races are genderlocked even being almost the exact same as previous (instead of cat ears bunny ears and green skin furry skin) so this makes me think that next expansion we will for sure get the other genders at some point(be it at launch or 99.0, most likely 5.1-5.3, but just guessing)

Look i'm glad your really hopeful and all but you really need to temper yourself or you will be disappointed. The Earliest that it could happen is 5.4 but realistically you should be looking at 6.0 if they decide to do them.

Here is why:
They made the decision to do the Hrothgar/Viera sometime around 4.1
4.1 was released on 10th October 2017
The races are still undergoing tuneups we don't see a near final version until sometime in May with the benchmark(we'll say May 15th since no accurate date yet and its right in middle of month having an even margin of error)
10/10/2017-15/05/2019 is 1 year 7 months and 5 days (small variable to due to unknown benchmark date)

So if SE decided tomorrow(Their nighttime atm) to say they will work on male Viera and female Hrothgar then from 07/04/2019 add 1 year 7 months 5 days we get 11/11/2020(Leap Year) till we see a close to finish product for them this would put us in the patch 5.4-5.5 ballpark.

Now all of that is dependent if they decide to do both genders at the same time and they have no basis like concept artwork and if they will release at the same time(I believe if they will do them it will happen together to make sure they don't get bombarded with why this gender 1st over the other queries etc).

It is fine to be hopeful but do not be unrealistic with it or you are just going to disappoint yourself and get upset for setting things too high

They won't add one gender. If they add Viera males they'll have to come along with a female gender be it Hrothgar or something else. I think the best one can hope for is they decide to add those for 6.0. Realistically I doubt they'd be able to do it anytime before then. They're not even done with female Viera and male Hrothgar given headgear won't be ready for launch.

They needn't - the same principle applies, in that focus on whether a "majority" of the playerbase wants the genderlock reversed is irrelevant. It just has to be a critical enough mass to allow for a higher stream of profits.

Think of it this way. If 6.0 adds the missing genders we might get a notable female Hrothgar/Ronso or male Viera/Viis npc somewhere in 5.x to tease them like with Yugiri and Fran, which would be pretty hype imo. So even if it's unrealistic to be able to play as either before 6.0, it's possible (though of course not guaranteed) you will still get a preview ^^

Just don't expect to see a male Viera until late 5.X patch cycle >_> this really bugs me as we are going to wander straight into a Viera village in 5.0 with just flavor text on males and this could be 1 of 2 expansion zones that may never get reused in expansion msq post 5.0 so we will barely get anything added for ages.
For reference HW msq never used SoC or AL and SB msq never used The Fringes or The Peaks past their respective times in base expansion MSQ. The Peaks is the worse offender by far as nothing in it is used at max level

Hhhmmm kinda dissapointed to see "no male viera / female hrothgar" announced. I hope SE will add them at some point in the next expansion (not release date because they have a looot of work polishing the current versions but .. in a future patch maybe). So, reading some post of this thread I came up with two "versions". Personally I like the first one (A), but I don't dislike the other one either. Someone posted the "Male Omega image" and , yep I can imagine them being like that. I'm temped to do another one of the female hrothgar too. Sooo... yep, I would like to see them in-game but, no rush.

I agree with you, I hope they add them through 5.x too, and I don't expect to see them on launch day but I would certainly love it.
As for which design I personally prefer, Certainly A. The only thing I would change is that their armor is a lot less revealing than females, and I hope SE gives us an equally revealing racial armor

Nice art. I really like B, A looks nice but the size difference is extreme, I think that might be taller than roegadyns.

Indeed, I wouldn't want too extreme a height difference between the males or females in the male direction, either.
