Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

Some other person on there drew male viera with a figure skaters physique and did a height comparison to male miqo'te. I thought they did a good job.

Well, seeing that heigth comparison just killed my hype for male viera... I would never play something as short, we are asking for male viera, not hobbits, that serously looks like a whole different race...

No. Some were discussing how they wanted Alphinaud's model as a base. Others were discussing it might be an ethical issue over seas.
From what I have been reading, it appears that the people on the japanese forum prefer a more slim body type. This is just an assumption, but those likes on the buff pics are probably mostly from the NA forum right now lol

You'd be surprised. I don't care too much about the height. My primary concern is the thinness of male viera. Although if they're around the same height as the females, or even a tad shorter, that'd be fine too.

At this point I've kind of made peace with Omega-M as a base. It's not too far from the concept art (max... that.... muscle slider!) and adheres to what Yoshida's had as his go-to description for male Viera.

That's what I've been saying this entire time man. Omega m as a base would be ideal.

Whatever you say is your business, and I'm not trying to police what you say, but on the japanese forum, you're sort of violating a social norm. The japanese tend not to be confrontational. Occasionally, they'll make posts disagreeing with each other, but for the most part, they only voice what they would like, and not confront others. In fact, they were having an argument earlier about this very thing in that thread.

I dont want Viera to be any Miqote or Highlander. Thats why these 2 exist and we can fantasia to them anytime.
I'd rather want Viera to be what our giraffes cant be. Some good looking slim race (with muscle slider, I dont mind). Just with better proportions and physics and better faces, and a fixed neck. So basically something unique.

I don't mind the body type, but that height is just reverse Au Ra... for me is same max height or nothing, pull the slider down all you want, I dont care, but beign forced to be short is a big no.

I wouldn't say it's 'perfect'. It's virtually no different a Miqo'te other than having bunny rather than cat ears. Something a bit more different would be preferable. If that's what some you want, you can get virtually the same effect by sticking the bunny ears from The Gold Saucer onto a Miqo'te.

Which is a completely separate debate from how tall they'd be. I'm hoping that between their tendency to make the guys taller, and the negative feedback regarding the Au Ra height differences, that they won't indulge in it too much.

Yeah, the nose is off. It's one of the things I like about the female Viera models, they do look rather bunny-ish.

But you could say the same thing about making them buff. Put Gold Saucer bunny ears on your Highlander and give him red eyes and white hair. Boom. There ya go. Instant buff bun bro. (Also I like Cat Daddy's ears as they are. He doesn't need rabbit ears as well.)

Well, no - you couldn't. None of the artwork for Viera men that has been posted looks remotely like a Highlander. Meanwhile, a lot of the artwork posted for 'smaller' Viera men is quite objectively just a Miqo'te look-alike with bunny ears stuck on. Let's not be disingenuous.
