They should just support graphical mods, people are already using them anyway.

As if they would ever listen to us, so doesnt really matterYour selfish idea would cost SE a lot of money every month because they would loose thousands of subs. You don't really think they will do that just to please you and some others do you?
Before someone starts with "but we have a million players, bruh" no the game has not one million players because SE does also count inactive accounts, bots and probably even banned accounts. I think SE can be happy if they have half or a third of a million players at all.![]()
If the ps4 can run Anthem, which is a very demanding game graphics wise, it could probably handle it![]()
I don't think SE will update ffxiv graphically. While I feel they really need to..I don't see it happening. Anything is possible though
Hien robe aside, the visual is pretty much fine on my iMac 27" 5K monitor. Now I don't think they will work on a new engine anytime soon, even they did, it would be for the future (major) expansion.
Wasn't Anthem the game that was crashing or bricking people's PS4's?
No consoles were bricked, and I've read reports of it happening with other games as well.
But Anthem was triggering it frequently.
It results in an improper powering off of the system.
And when a system is improperly shut down like that, there are sometimes problems.
It required booting the console in safe mode to rebuild the file database iirc.
I don't really feel like the PS4 is holding anything back. It obviously can't match up to the top end gaming pc's as far as graphic's and processing capabilities, but it should have more than enough for a newer game engine to be implemented.
I would assume the monetary cost, time, and man power would be what is holding it back.

An engine change for FFXIV doesn't make sense. It makes sense if they'd develop an entirely new FF online game but to change the basic system this game is running on isn't worth the money / manpower whatever when the game is running / looking more than fine even with the "older" engine.I don't really feel like the PS4 is holding anything back. I agree with you. However it seems quite a few on this thread just want a new game engine. Unless I am reading them wrong, then I am just a bad reader lol.An engine change for FFXIV doesn't make sense. It would make a lot more sense to just make a new game. However I think that is a long time down the road. I think, I read/heard the devs have at least 3 more expansions after ShB planned.
