Only if the 4700 voices are taken randomly into the whole playerbase. People on this forum are not random, since they're already "those that are active on the forums", thus not representing "those that aren't".

Keep in mind that those 4700 are not from the forums. Those are from an unofficial poll where the number of those against gender-locking are at least 1000 more than those on the forums here.

There's already like 5+ topics over this, a good majority of which are devoted solely to salt over the male Viera...

I get that people want them, really I do, but there's a limit to the amount of egoism I can take. (Not really invested one way or another; I'll make a Hrothgar alt after clearing 5.0's MSQ, otherwise meh.)

Seriously OP? Yoshida has made several official announcements in interviews already:

They might make the missing genders in the future, but they aren't promising anything. They aren't saying "no, we're not going to make them", but it takes a substantial amount of work resources, so they can't guarantee they'll be able to make them.

I want to make this thread to remind SE that a majority of their playerbase wants genderlock to be removed as soon as possible, and I want to use this thread to keep reminding them about it. Please SE, just make an official response soon. It's getting quite annoying to have to wait so much for you to say that we will get genderlock lifted

Forums are no where near the majority. The forums is literally the most minority. Not even 10% of the playerbase uses the forums.

Let's look at the numbers in more depth then.



It seems like only 92% of those that are strongly opposed to gender-locking actually stayed true to that in both Viera and Hrothgar cases. Some of those that didn't even jumped to the highest extreme of being strongly in favor.

If we look at those that were only opposed to gender-locking, those that jumped to being strongly opposed are 9% in the case of Viera and 16% in the case of Horthgar. Only 50% in both races remained on the same response and 30% jumped down to being neutral, while the rest turned out to be in favor.

Edited my original post I got so tongue twisted by the word opposed it's not even funny. I feel like there's a simpler word that could be put in place of opposed/in favor. But yes your conclusion is what I generally meant.

Can't you guys go through one day without bringing up the genderlock thing? It's not like they're just going to drop what they're doing regarding the entire expansion right now, especially when the XV event is coming soon, in order to suddenly design a male Viera and female Hrothgar when they just said that the funds and time weren't there for them right now.

It's an odd term. It's a genderlock in that you can only have one gender but implies it's keeping you from something that exists. They exist lore wise, but as you said, they are not fully designed and implemented. People seem to think they can just flip a switch and let you have them.

Though I think they should have both genders it seems it can't happen right away.

Genderlock it actually a term for classes.

Like how in tera they released Brawlers. They were not only race locked (Human only) but also Genderlocked (Female). They later let Elin be Brawlers to and also Human Males (so it's no longer genderlocked)

That's why it's such a strange sounding term. The Viera and Hrothgar are Monogender.
