lol I'm gonna make like 5 more threads about genderlocking just to annoy these people some more.
And you aren't? You are asking the dev team to take time away from other projects so that YOU can get what YOU want.
Important question: are they hrothgar kittens?
And are they male or female? This is important.
Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!
I'm opposed to a speedy genderlock removal if it removes resources that they've dedicated battle content and story content to. The genderlocked Male Hrothgar and Female Viera is a fair compromise to me when considering the most likely scenario that they instead would have just gone straight Viera to avoid mass complaint and riot. As a fan of the concept of the beastly race (Hrothgar... Lupin *cough*) I appreciate this.
Have a look at this tableWhile that is true, the OP said "to remind SE that a majority of their playerbase", which is clearly false. There is no way to think this poll is unbiased simply due to the fact that people that already care about the genderlock are seeking these types of things out via reddit/official forums.
4,700 is an impressive poll turnout, I'll admit to that, but I feel its heavily biased. an unbiased poll would be something like a pop-up survey when you log into the game, which we cannot do.
These are the current number of votes for the poll and the likes on the forums on the two mega threads. There's at least a difference of 1000 votes between the poll and the forums. It's very easy to spread the polls to even non FFXIV players and have them vote, hence why it can be heavily biased. Those that are neutral or for gender-locking won't bother spreading it.
On the forums here, since you need an account, only FFXIV players can vote (I'm not sure if those banned on the forums can still like posts or not, but I doubt they're gonna make up the missing 1000 if they can't).
On a funny note, notice how the number of those strongly opposed to gender-lock in general is much higher than those in the Viera and Hrothgar section. If I have 2720 players that are against gender-locking in general, I'd expect to see at least a minimum of 2720 in both Viera and Horthgar section or more but never less. Hence why it's best to direct the votes to the official means.

So... 14 million players... and 2500 or so disagree? Bring better data.
This isn't by any means meant as an insult. But before going about claiming that a Majority of the Playerbase wants for this to happen it should actually be a majority of the playerbase in the corresponding data this ensures that the argument for such a thing is a strong movement aimed towards the change and can provide irrefutable proof that such a thing is in demand.
You got to keep in mind while things are different in America because of Labor Laws In Japan pouring over these kinds of things and making them happen in game is what is reffered to as a Death march. These Programmers will spend days and weeks at thier office often sleeping on the floor next to thier computer to make sure these things happen if they are indeed demanded by a majority. That means time away from families and real life things in order to see it to fruition.
