Y: I usually compare FFXIV with a theme park, but the Forbidden Land of Eureka won’t be a place where everyone would want to go. For example, there are people who don’t want to go to horror houses because they don’t see the point in getting scared on purpose. For example, on a date, the boyfriend might want to invite the girlfriend to go the horror house, but the girlfriend just doesn’t seem to find it fun. In other words, it’s not like everyone wants to go to the horror house, but there are people who just love the adrenalin rush they get from it. Think of Eureka as something like that.

Yep, exactly. I don't know how anyone could possibly think that these 2 things were serious. lol
The answer for the most of them is pretty straight forward: They already invested time and money. It's kind of funny to always see the same people in these threads, year after year complaining the game is stale and they are bored and tired of it. They must be doing something right, cuz you are still here.
I'd point out they have done new things, but it's always "but it's not really new, it's just the same thing with a different skin" so I won't really try to convince you. You already have your minds made up.
As stupid as this may sound like.
This is why so many are still playing WoW, despite disliking so many things from the Game.
We are a weird species. ^^

I need Ultimate Fight as a PvP mode...
Does this mean he's breaking up with us?![]()
I really enjoyed FF15, the things i wish it had was true open world and a bigger world in general. From all the talk they had they made it seem like it would be a truly open world final fantasy game. And they made it sound so huge. And yes the map is large, but i wanted it larger. Probably a selfish request. I mean sure you can get out of your car and explore, but there really isn't much to discover. There is nothing exciting to discover while running around. Outside of the main road, cities, dungeons, and hunt locations, there isn't much to explore.Honestly, I care about both elements. XV looked good but I didn't get as engaged as I wanted with neither the battle system or the overall theme. However, games nowdays cater to a different public and a turn-based system wouldn't create too much appeal in a numbered Final Fantasy title. Don't get me wrong, I'm an old school RPG/JRPG gamer and I would LOVE to see a turn based game again (Mainly the reason why I'm playing Exvius at this moment). Having to think about what each member can do in combat feels more engaging for me than just swinging my sword with one buttom. With that being said...

I'm looking forward to the expansion, and the new things Yoshi-P adds with it.
As for Yoshi-P working on a new game, it's possible currently he is just overseeing the high-level pre-production and production of the next game being developed by the division he leads. It's pretty much expected for him to have multiple projects now, as he is a division lead and is also on the board of directors. While he helped move XIV into not only a success, but an almost unheard of one after its initial failure, his success also helped shoot his career up inside SE. He was a rather unknown dev before taking over.
I do not think that is true, I think allot quit.. I played during beta and joined with Zam FC which was so large we had to use LS so my friends list was massive. Now My friends list has maybe 3 active people on it. A few jumped servers but most have quit.
I think FFXIV has allot of turn over. I thing the games survives allot on new players.Right now it is WOW refuges. I cant believe the amount of new player that I see on my server all the time. Eventually you run out of new players.
For me the reason I am here is the whole MMO industry is bad right now and there is not allot out there for us MMO players. FFXI is not nearly the same game it used to be and is more like FFXIV everyday. I have tried a few others like ESO which was bad.
Sometimes you do not have to be great to do well in a market of mediocrity.
Agreed he defiantly has pull more pull now. I would doubt SE wants to loose him.Very true, especially with the high demands on a corporate level. However, someone like Yoshida will still have influence over corporate decisions. Especially now as he has a lot more power than he did several years ago. FFXIV is in a place where Yoshi could relinquish some of his power to a co director/producer so he would have time for other projects, but whether it is attachment, trust, competency or something else; he currently seems unwilling to let that go. As the person most directly responsible for XIVs success, it would be unwise to divert too much of his attention away from it while on the summit.
Like you said though, it's all speculation. I could be entirely wrong and corporate may very well be exhausting Yoshi and taking his good health for granted. This happens all the time in business.
He can also change his mind and want a change or to build some thing new.
He doesn't have to give up full control of FFXIV to also work on something else.
I mean the development team has to have much better control on the game now too and the direction.
Not only that him having his name behind a new game even if he does very little might help a game sell some.
I have to say though I was reading on several threads that he has started another project and someone is working under him on FFXIV.
I was just skimming through them though and read this.

There are hiring notices up for the Third Division and this project specifically. If it's an April Fool's joke, they're risking lawsuits for it.
Side note, but as recently as Paris you had Yoshida talking about what he would like to do if he just happened to work on FFXVI.

Calling it. VR / Desktop cross support FF MMO. 5 years out would be enough time for the good VR headsets to hit.
