FFXIV GRAPHICS UPDATE/OVERHAUL - WHEN???

Selfish request aside we also have to take into account wonderful console limitations. An overall may be a positive for PC users, but what about our console players? Should we forget them? They might benefit from the back end adjustments, but the graphical aspect properly would not be much of a just to warrant being without content for a year.

Sad is thinking this community could handle it. Wows community barely tolerated their oh so amazing year long content drought. So many people will complain or unsub you will be begging se to drop content..

Also this, a year long content drought would not be a easy thing for the community to understand. I think the players that care about graphical adjustments or a new engine are in the minority.

The game is far from ugly or outdated. It's pretty OK for a MMO.
I mean yeah there are some textures that are ridiculous (looking at you, Hien's outfit) and they should treat it more carefully or at least update some of the gear, but an entire overhaul? I don't think that there is such a huge need for that.

Improve, for some, is new content, not seeing your catboy in HD. That's pretty subjective, so I could say that people wanting the game to stop for a year just so they can wear an outfit with a better texture are also selfish.

Its a never ending battle on both sides, yes both sides are selfish. Im super selfish and think its worth the time to implement, I really dont care.

I should say major content and not so much side content that could probably still be implemented along side the upgrades. But honestly I play only on PC and I cant relate to console and I'm sorry they would get shafted but its still something worth doing in the end.

They can't make it look totally amazing because noone would be able to run the game.

Sorta. It would be suicide if the the game suddenly couldn't play on a large chunk of the players' systems, but there are usually ways to make gradual improvements and allow for users to choose lower quality. It's not good for an mmo to be on the "bleeding edge" since stability and a large player base are more important goals.

Graphical improvements should come slowly as time goes on without sacrificing content. Content drives the game graphics are just eye candy and should be improved when needed as needed.
