Yeah, basically. An entire overhaul? Nope, but yes, a few graphic updates here and there along with major patches, fixing the most-ugly-af-stuff would be very welcome, indeed.
I don't think wanting a graphical update for areas that are outdated is a bad thing, but wanting everyone who plays to have no content for a year+, and a good chunk of the player base that plays on console to suck it to get those shiny new graphics is pretty bad, especially considering ShB is right around the corner.
Yeah, if SE decided that a graphical update was more important then a years worth of content, I would probably be gone. The content is why I am here, and what keeps my playing.
I really don't think the game needs a graphical overhaul. On my PS4 Pro / 65'' 4k TV the game looks absolutely stunning. The landscapes are beautiful and for a game almost two decades old it's beautiful. Spell effects are amazing too. The only thing where I'd agree on a graphical overhaul are character / NPC models. Besides that? Not needed. Game looks and runs fantastic.

Honestly? All I want is an opt-in HD texture pack ala LoTRO. If modding weren't a big no-no I'd be tempted to make one myself because the ARR zones of this game are especially hideous with their low res textures and meshes and I cringe every time I port to Ul'dah or Limsa.

For the main part some better textures and some fix about physics/clipping (too rigid clothes or clothes that disappear) would be welcome. But the game is far from awful.

I doubt it. We just dropped 32bit and there are computers with lowers settings than the original ps4.
They should just support graphical mods, people are already using them anyway.

If the ps4 can run Anthem, which is a very demanding game graphics wise, it could probably handle it![]()
I don't think SE will update ffxiv graphically. While I feel they really need to..I don't see it happening. Anything is possible though
Wasn't Anthem the game that was crashing or bricking people's PS4's?
