Yes, hi, pre-order cancelled, not renewing subscription person here.
You guys need to stop acting like people who think this is sexist, or people who are going to unsubscribe, are such blemishes on this debate. People who come in here and bring people like me up as a reason why this request is unreasonable are stawmanning. Stop getting up in arms and trying to fight them off every time they show up here - ignore and move on.

I agree, in most cases it is a gross simplification of the existing stance and even if it was accurate, people prioritize different things out of the content they currently have and the content to be released. It doesn’t change the fact that there are people that are looking at where the game is going and questioning it, and the lack of male viera can be a part of that.Yes, hi, pre-order cancelled, not renewing subscription person here.

My point to Aces, and as were my previous posts to him and those coming in here, is that they are pinning that as the sole attitude of this thread. It is not. There is another dedicated thread where people encourage their outrage. I am pointing out that they are strawmanning the majority of this thread's community to be a bunch of whiners when the point of this thread is discussing male viera ideas and giving them support. I'm basically baiting for laughs from those who remember that he came in here telling us that Female Viera and Male Hrothgar should be scrapped for voicing male viera positivity along with calling us a minority that if we are 'pandered to' will spark the end of ffxiv like wow. It was for a chuckle, because anyone who has followed this thread knows that his claims have nothing to stand on.Yes, hi, pre-order cancelled, not renewing subscription person here.

Correction. I don't care if they add male viera or not. My point has always been that anyone who is willing to unsub just because they're not getting male viera didn't really like FFXIV to begin with and is looking for an excuse to quit. There isn't a single thing, besides glamours, that they can't do in the game without being a male viera. So I'm hoping SE sticks to their guns and calls their bluff.
They could but there is also lost fantasia income and people who won't buy from the Mogstation due to unhappiness with the decision. It doesn't have to involve ragequits, necessarily. However, you do imply you care as to whether they're added or not by hoping that they stick to their guns and therefore do not add them.Correction. I don't care if they add male viera or not. I believe the angle Billy is coming at this from - and he can correct me if I err - is to do with a perceived bias against adding decent glamours and appearances catering to male characters. Personally I wouldn't necessarily impute this to sexism, but certainly there is an element of waifu-maker pandering in the game, however I think that's driven more by the fact that a majority of active characters is female - but not really great enough to justify cutting on designs that interest male character players. My point to Aces, and as were my previous posts to him and those coming in here, is that they are pinning that as the sole attitude of this thread. When the game's story becomes self-aware:
I will continue playing whether they add them or not. And I seriously doubt that more than a small fraction of the complainers will actually buy a fantasia in the first place. But will I get a good kick out of them calling the bluff of the ragers? Damn straight I will. They could but there is also lost fantasia income and people who won't buy from the Mogstation due to unhappiness with the decision. FFXIV is a waifu maker. I will fully admit that and its why I support a more elegant or cute male viera. Rather it be au ra esque viera or an elezen one. I feel that women in this game only have really two options when make 'cute' males and that are the male lowlanders and male miqotes. I suppose that you can put male elezens down but their proportions really put them at a disadvantage here and they come off more handsome. I feel there is a market for female gamers wanting their 'bishonen' character. But like you I would not equate that to sexism. What I took from Billy is that he did not want his decision of unsubbing and feeling that there is sexism involved as a scourge on the thread. I am just saying that its a small issues within THIS thread that I have hardly seen discussed through the almost 200 pages.I believe the angle Billy is coming at this from - and he can correct me if I err - is to do with a perceived bias against adding decent glamours and appearances catering to male characters. Does it come up? Yes, but not as often as to be the focus because I think the majority is focused on wanting a new option for those who want a cute male character to play as.
