Dear SE, I am a Healer

As for them saying they wanna make WHM simpler and the thing they said about the other healer, comes across as them not getting what's wrong with the jobs. Now hey, come May when they do the next live letter, they may well surprise us, but us healers are very skeptical. And what if they don't balance it out and come next expansion they say "Sorry, we're still trying to balance healers, so no new healer job" thus meaning it'll be 8+ years without a new healer job. That's what we're worried about, their flimsy reasoning. Now it may be, he's just used a very poor choice of wording (or something got lost in translation), but right now we're not being inspired with confidence you know. I'd be happy with one or the other. Since we didn't get a new healer because we still need balancing out, the next best thing would be to get better balanced.

I'll chime in on that as I looked up the video in one of the healer threads.

The comment was brought up in the following context:
He and a small group of guests have a few minutes between Naoki's Room #1 and the next panel or event. They're told they have about 18 minutes to have an "ask me anything" type thing (lit: ask as many questions as you want) during this they talk about Paladin and what kind of changes might come up. Yoshida mentions there's some big changes especially with stances (Oath in particular [Edit: I just realized I'm derping and both are called Oath. I'm pretty sure he was referring to Shield Oath, but at this point I'm going off of memory and I wasn't really listening for that. They were talking about the Sword Oath animation before that though]) but he didn't go into any details. One of the guests who plays WHM then asks about WHM then kinda gives him a jokingly jab that he is sitting between two people who play WHM so be careful with what he says.

After responding to the joke by saying he's a black mage, Yoshida gets a little more serious and thinks about it hmming and haaing for a few seconds before he says, "更に使いやすくなるんかな" which basically translates to "I guess they'll be even easier to [play/use/etc]" Immediately afterwards he interjects "だっと思います" (at least, I think so/or so I think). The guest who asked the question is happy with the answer, but he really doesn't say much of anything in regards to what that might mean. It can mean a variety of things, for example 食べやすい(easy to eat) can mean tasty(thus, easy to eat) but usually is used to describe something like porridge/oatmeal which is easy to eat (you don't need to chew it).

He then goes back into a happy/joking mode and cracks a joke about how the WHM can only throw rocks now lately, and he and the guests have a good laugh and crack jokes on the subject for a bit after that. The comment can be found on the day 1, I think, VOD on twitch around the 4:59:00 mark.

Okay well if not for the role skills, from your experience which skills do people desire from choosing BRD? I'm honestly curious because my experiences are different.

Mostly because of its crit synergy with other jobs, who also have crit buffs and also part of the meta, like DRG and SCH.

Yes there are some groups that prefer to have refresh. But even then we can't really say BRD being chosen for its role skills when it's just refresh and half of the role skills are never being used. SE might as well just give BRD and MCH their own MP regen skill and remove the physical range role skills and it won't even matter.
I hope in ShB if SE does want to emphasize BRD and MCH as the "support" of the group, then they would put the role skills that can actually support the group instead of just a bunch of situational CCs that mostly done by other jobs anyway.

Thanks. That seems like an open-ended answer combined with some weird wordplay on his part. Still not 100% convinced yet, but that is at least nice to have clarification on what he actually said, word for word.

It's definitely hard to understand him, I've played it like 10x now. What makes it weird is he says "janai" after the yasukunaru part, which would be like "isn't it?" So it would be fully "it will be come easier to use won't it? I think" Or something like that. How it would become easier to use is what I'm wondering because right afterwards they make fun of how it's mostly just casting stone stone stone.

Missed this while trying to hear the Japanese, I agree that it'll be nice if the ranged phys jobs get more "support" type skills in ShB. Would further solidify their identity as a different type of dps.

My Wife main WHM in FFXI and in FFXIV... and doesn't want more healing jobs. We have 3 types of healers what more do you want!
I honestly am not sure why they are adding another Tank other then to make queues faster. All 3 tanks basiclly play the same outside of End Game content.

Sure there is a few little differences but basiclly do this rotations or that rotations.

Lets break down all 3 roles.
Bad TANK
HATE rotations Repeat
Good TANK
hate rotations DPS rotations try not to loss hate as long as in DPS rotations.

Bad healer
Cure WAIT cure WAIT repeat
Good healer
Cure DPS rotations hope no one dies while putting out max DPS get the cure off just in time to save the day repeat.

Bad DPS
blah blah blah...
Good DPS I can do better NUMBERS MUST MAX my Stats

With good and bad Tank and DPS in every group....
Sadly when I get a random healer most times I'm amazed to see DPS tossed out. We don't need more lazy healers.

It was simply a warning that everything in the post was my opinions and I was only speaking for myself, you know, to avoid misunderstandings of people being like "that isn't how I feel stop speaking for the entire community" lol

If I had said "Warning! Opinions Ahead!" would it have made any difference? Cause that is what I meant. If you chose to take it some other way then that isn't my problem.

Also you might as well delete the entire forums if you want to get rid of feelings, cause well the feelings are all over the place. Opinions, feelings, they are pretty much the same thing.
