Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

I'm in full support of a Male Viera Race. Especially if they're of the smaller stature like Alphinaud

No one is tempering the lore of those games. Things can work differently in FFXIV if the team so desires. They have the power and control to write something that works in XIV and the older games will remain unchanged.

So no one is tempering with the lore if they decide to temper with the lore huh

My position is that, while adding these models will take an inordinate amount of effort to ensure that male clothing fits them, it will be extremely worth it owing to the fact that there is no real reason not to. In an environment where gender parity is becoming a significant draw for games that offer full customization of their player character (even Pokemon has done it!), creating gender-locked characters is somewhat of a backwards look.

I have other concerns with the Viera models-- there's little to differentiate them from Miq'ote or Au'ra right now, outside of ears/horns-- but those are irrelevant at this time. Male Viera should exist.

Lore could be taken as a reason to not have male Miqo'te be playable as well. And look at how many people enjoy playing as one.
Genderlocking races and classes is a concept from earlier games where you needed to concentrate resources, i know and i see that argument.
But please, we have evolved as a genre. Let people play as the gender they want. With the race they want.

For some people games like this (MMO's especially) are a sanctuary, a refuge and help them get over insecurities because they can decide who they want to be.
So yes, please add male Viera (I personally am in favor of smaller ones - the rough sekeleton is in place with - as OP mentioned - Alphinaud - however any and all forms would be greatly appreciated) and female Hrothgar alike

Vieras go back to 2003 with FFTA pal, not 2006 with FFXII.

Lupin was considered wearing a costume during a Halloween event go figure would definetly had been stopped at any other time of year
Mamool ja did get stopped and were allowed because of technicality of not being part of those banned Hrothgar would fall in this as well but they will be stopped

You can't just get off the cart at the beginning and not be stopped in these 2 cities states they either add extra scenes for Hrothgar specifically or throw out the lore excuse already

Ever since I played Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced I have loved the Viera. I was BEYOND excited to be getting them in FFXIV. Until I saw that they would be female only. I get that in lore yo never really see males, but they DO exist. It is totally possible that any number of them decided they'd rather go out and adventure than do what is "expected" or the "norm". Please let me be a male Viera.
